Aishwarya is to blame for this entirely. She brought her personal life on the sets of SRK's movie and disrupted the shooting. Why should she be kept? She was a liability. It is like a victim shaming... It is salman who created nonsense and instead of helping Aishwarya who is in need, srk choose buisness benefits. And you are saying it is Aishwarya problem just to support srk ?

There already had been disturbances by Salman on the sets of Devdas... Salman's jealousy and insecurity about Aish really committing to him was obvious at that time... then also on Aish's following movies Salman would burst into the sets... So, it was a known fact that not all was love, peace and harmony in that relation and still SRK was supporting Aish by casting her... but it had been things that Aish apparently had said to Salman about her collaboration with SRK that triggered Salman to destroy even things on the set and to utter threats.

In no way is Aish an innocent victim. I don't know what exactly happened in her relationship with Salman but I know what forced SRK to make the decision to not work with Aish in Chalte anymore. The other movie decisions had been taken by producers (e.g. Yash ji), not by SRK. The filmindustry is an industry where the responsable people exactly know what better not to do...

it's salman who harassed aishwariya on the set. women can't be blamed for the abuse they go through. SRK should have the guts to confront his friend salman. it's not the only time SRK behaves like a misogynistic towards aish. you are the type of man to blame the viticm for her own rape.

But Chitraganda's hype was different. she was not glamorous as Aish or Rani at that time. she had considered for art house cinemas. People were called her Smita Patil look like. Also, Priya ( Rani Mukherjee) was not only a rich girl but also a housewife in the movie. so, Chitraganda couldn't suit for that role completely. she would look like as a corporate girl than rich girl in the movie. Chalte Chalte is not a arthouse cinema. She would look weird while dancing and romancing with SRK in the commericial cinema. Even she looked weird while doing item song in the Gabbar is Back.

For me, Rani or Aish or even Amisha was the perfect choice for Priya's role.

In the real world, if your drunk boyfriend or husband came to the office at a employer you think they woudn't fire the person? Yes, they would! Same thing applies to to this situation. Aishwarya was a terrible actress anyway. I am glad Rani replaced her. We got a classic movie that can still be watched today. Can you imagine Aishwarya in that role? I would have trashed the movie and never seen it again!

Okay, we are getting a little bit to wrapped up around this. Aishwarya wasn't meant to do the movie. So, that's history. Salman was obsessed with this woman, so she should have taken proper measures to not let him harass her. Hire a security guard, go to a locked location, etc. SRK could have planned the shooting if Aishwarya had informed him. But she didn't and lost the movie to Rani. Case closed.
