Trps are going down from the time armaan married geetu because his character got destroyed so badly and him marrying another woman was the last straw .now many viewers are not invested in the lead couple any more..in rishta the lead couple has to hold the viewers attention...I'm not sure if the viewers who stopped watching will return ..dkp has to do something big.

I agree with you technically speaking the parallel leads don't affect the trps but if you observe yrkkh's trps closely from the moment of trp dip, the "Abhiara" centric episodes have the least trp. Just see the trp of Abhiara love confession and consummation episode, you will get it.

The downfall is that they made Abhira forgive and reunite with a man who deprived her daughter from her for 7 years, and married another woman despite being in the wrong whilst she got engaged and then rejected a man who was honourable enough to love her, respect her and accept her daughter and family as well. Secondly they have ruined every character in the Poddar family so nobody is likeable or relatable anymore to glorify them. But I think the show is flawed in general because they butcher the main leads so badly that their reunion is never feasible in the end ( this is evident in gen 3 and gen 4)
