I think Ranveer is being smart by staying silent. If he were to post anything, the naysayers will be like he's trying to get footage and movie belongs to Akshaye blah blah. Already the machinery has started churning negative stuff with regards to Don 3, they just need fodder right now.

People who are appreciating him already don't need any words from him anyway. Smart to lie low now and then go all out promoting during Part 2, that will bring the attention back to him. Let him revel in the success and jealousy of the detractors for now.

Even I wonder why. Maybe the initial way the whole Bollywood seemed to be against the movie? The original elitist reviews that were against it? Maybe they played a part in how he is behaving. But soaking it in and trying to understand how he’s not as much an insider even after more than a decade here? Not sure what’s going on.

I had a lengthy face to face conversation with her - with nobody around she could have needed to impress - except me... so some things became 'unfiltered' (and when I've a talk with someone I don't know, it's rarely about me, so I focus on the other person- intellectually and emotionally). My impression of a person would always be more 'valuable' to me when my accumulated knowledge about her/him results in a personal encounter (and certainly not only one 'in passing') .

Ok that just sounds crazy. Those who claim Ranveer may be jealous of Akshayes character or whatever haven’t truly seen the movie. Yes Akshayes character had a LOT of swag. But that swag was possible coz of all the power moves that Ranveers character was doing. I for one never thought that Ranveer was sidelined. He was THE hero through and through. I honestly don’t think he is being petty or whatever.

But yeah honestly no explanation on why the radio silence apart from how a lot of people in the elite circles have their asses on fire seeing the success and didn’t really congratulate him for it.
edited to add- you know the kind of personality he has. He doesn’t have a lot of enemies in Bollywood (or didn’t used to at least). Like he was friendly with everyone. Promoting everyone. The happy go lucky guy. Maybe when he didn’t see a lot of people he considered friends not returning the favor- maybe that changed something in him? Hence the silence? 🤷‍♀️

There's simply no denying that AK's character got all the lit moments . And it was not accidentally happening, it was framed and shot like that. Like, the whole "Loot le gaya " set piece. From music to camera composition to literally putting him in front of an audience going crazy over him , the dialogs .. everything was created to hype him up and AK totally delivered.

This is what I call a genius director's choice. Instead of giving those carefully composed hype moments to the lead he gave it to the anti thesis. It just reinforces the whole spy lurking in the background, slipping under the shadow thing and Ranveer was really doing well in doing that. He even was avoiding eye contact many times especially with the ISI chief and also in the first hospital scene. Which is very difficult job to achieve because Hamza , with his big body and alpha attractive face could've easily grabbed a lot of attention so he literally vanished in the shadow of Rehman so that nobody noticed him very keenly. In a way, he used Rehman's charisma for his own mission , for his own benefit.

It'd be laughable to believe that AK stole the limelight from him because there was nothing accidental about it , it's just how the script was planned . It's part of the story. Just like Yalina being significantly younger than Hamza is very much planned part of the story. Many things she did , her pagalpan, her reactions and actions wouldn't make sense if she was older , say , 25. She wouldn't spy on her own father or leave the security of her house without marrying him first .

So in conclusion, those who think Hamza got overshadowed by Rehman , that was kind of intentional and necessary for the script.

As for Ranveer going MIA , I've seen a section of viewers being happy for that. Because it means he won't do something stupid to just jeopardize his own success or get in the way of it.

Only that it's a different approach to , say, how the two heroes of the other two blockbusters of this year were doing it. Rohit was quite visible and so was Vicky and also Ahan was pretty much out there.

Also, I'm very happy that AK is getting to shine in this one , as is Arjun , Madhavan, Gaurav Gera , Sanjay etc. Hamza will get his chance to be on the limelight now the stage is set for him in part 2.

This is dog eat dog industry. Here nobody is Saga of anybody. They're all cannibals and the sooner he understands that , better for his stardom. All the stars are ruthless here.
