Karan really seems to have a 'hang-over' of his first movie (he assisted and had an acting role in)...and wasn't yet in a petty competition game with Aditya...

For Kartik and Ananya, it certainly was something they loved to do as they both like SRK very much - and it was a kind of hommage, imo.

My take after more than a decade of experience: don't trust anyone of those Hindi-filmindustry reviewers until you've found someone who seems to think (and look at a movie) similar to yourself - especially when giving a review without giving "stars" (which has become rare - and is very fine to me)

I watched the film today. It is an average film that works in parts. The film reflects the changing dynamics of romance in today’s world, where one-night stands are taken too casually and committing to a single person feels rather scary. It tries to balance the hookup culture of 2025 with an age-old love story from the 90s, and the outcome is only partly satisfying.

The film is lavishly designed, and the stunning locales of Croatia leave you mesmerized. It is a visual treat for the eyes. However, the first half is a bit of a bumpy ride. The jokes fall flat, and there are too many songs that slow down the pace. The story barely moves forward, with very little happening. The film attempts to mimic DDLJ, but the impact is missing.

The central conflict of the story is also quite weak. Ananya is projected as a modern girl who has no problem sleeping with Kartik despite him pretending to be a married man. However, sacrificing her happiness for her father and walking away from someone she loves is not convincing enough.

Thankfully, the second half when the family drama begins is much better. There are several emotional moments that stay with you long after the show is over. The father–daughter and mother–son angles work quite well. The chemistry between Kartik and Ananya is electrifying, and the comic portions involving two families land effectively here.

Kartik Aaryan is in form and looks perfect for the part .Ananya looks drop dead gorgeous and surprised me with a confident performance.After Kesari 2 ,this is another decent act from her!

Overall a decent romantic drama that could have been better.But still remains watchable thanks to the second half where the film comes alive.

If Dhurandar was not n theatres now, this movie would have done as well as Param Sundari at least. Now have to see.
