If this is about YHM, I feel the show should have ended once Adi accepted Ishita as his mother. The subsequent leaps felt unnecessary and, I guess, diluted what was otherwise a strong emotional arc.

As for Kyunki (Season 1), it ended rather abruptly. I think Ekta had plans to continue the story on another channel, but that unfortunately didn’t materialize.

It definitely shouldn’t have reached the point where Shagun became the surrogate for Ishita; while Ishita herself had no clue about the situation.

Affairs. He has thankfully not reproduced with more than 2 women at this point that we know off

Nah. She wanted to include Gauri around the same time as Hiten, but had to wait for months as Gauri was under contract with Sony for longer than Hiten. Her other show ended and the day her Sony contract ended she was onboard Kyunki.

So Hiten definitely was not an extended cameo who became a regular.

I don’t have complete clarity on this, but I think Ekta wanted to bring in Hiten and Gauri, especially after their performances and the immense on-screen popularity they gained through Kutumb, and leverage that appeal for Kyunki. Once Karan entered the storyline, he was given a strong, well-defined arc and gradually emerged as a fan favorite as well.

I agree. The story really went off track with elements like the surrogacy track, bhoot track, the crocodile track, and several other gimmicky twists. They ended up turning what was once a grounded, emotionally driven narrative into something unnecessarily absurd.

Mihir’s affairs and the resulting kid count basically turned into a guessing game, I think. Considering the chaos, the fact that the count hasn’t spiralled further is probably the writers’ biggest act of restraint.
