His share of rent of the room chawl if not the entire rent of the chawl, daily expenses like groceries, clothes, shoes etc. He had twins so double the expenses of every single thing that a newborn needs (and they need a LOT of things), Vrinda’s medical expenses at that time, school fees once the kids were old enough. Then a family this huge would have medical expenses from time to time too right from regular cough, cold and fevers to other illnesses. There is a senior citizen in that family and 2 children so those are a given. And I still haven’t accounted for their light bill and mobile bill, travel expenses even if they use passes for rail and bus transport.

All of it based on whatever salary he has or whatever he makes from his business.

It might seem unrealistic but in a way this is the most real thing in the show. Life in Mumbai is as it is expensive, account for all those things and you won’t think it is insane that he didn’t manage to get a decent place so far despite 6 years. Some people never get to buy their own home here despite living here all their lives. Some do but it’s a small one room house that is as tiny as you can imagine.

We weren’t discussing Tanya as a character and how she was. We were discussing the fact that Karan and Tanya had stayed together to raise children and that Manthan was born while they had been together in S1. How they got together despite Nandini being out of coma was being discussed.

I had no reason to get into every single detail for a conversation that had nothing to do with the analysis of the triangle and their messed up relationships when the basic plot points were being discussed.

In S1 - Anupam Kesar had 3 daughters. In this season they changed that and we got these 3 siblings instead.

Karan had briefly lived at Anupam’s - that’s when we met his daughters. Sharmili was the oldest and was about 16 or so. Lajja was the next approximately 13 or so. The youngest was Aparna who was approximately 9/10 years old. She seemed to have grown closest to Karan. Karan was shown as at least 23/4 himself at the time. He was initially introduced as Saahil’s college friend, iirc they studied together in US.

Hemant wants to live in La La land and like Drithrashtra would rather blame Kiran as he blamed Bheem but not accept his own sons were at fault. Much like Hemant will blame everyone but Mihir.

Hrithik’s incapability doesn’t make sense to me but I can put it down to his inexperience combined with the lack of mentoring that he needed in this situation. Angad could have some capability because he was mentored by Mihir too for sure, perhaps even his brothers and uncles when needed. He also did it during peaceful times in his family. Hrithik had to join business when everything was going wrong within the family and he probably had no decent mentoring either. Both brothers can have similar degrees from the same or similar institutions but theory doesn’t work when it comes to real life, practical knowledge is more important and Hrithik got the short stick there.

Ran’s capability to be a thief is what’s more baffling.

How can he survive without a surname is at it is beyond me. He can always claim he shares a famous surname but is not closely related to the famous family and has never met them either.

There have to be other people who have the surname Adani, are they all as rich as him? Is everyone called Shah related to Amit Shah? If you are a Khan does it mean you are necessarily related to one of the 3 Khans and work in Bollywood? The surname logic is stupid.

Angad could have been shown running his own business, maybe it was not as big as the Viranis. Maybe he was only working domestically and had expanded only to 2/3 states at most, but they could have shown that. It would have been reasonable given that it’s only 6 years. But sigh…
