Also like ekta and smriti sakshi had said people always have issues with shows catered to women - which is true cause you will see the ridicule for teen shows sex shows but never for shows for game of thrones cause that's supposed to be more serious or whatever. Also they mentioned how these fl stand by the right things. Very true

But also in those shows and today women careers aren't taken seriously, they have restrictions on whom to love. The emphasis on joint family even when they are bad and bahu has to keep them together. so some things in tv context didn't change

Yeah, Shweta rarely speaks about that time but I have watched her talk in one or two interviews where she was immensely grateful to Ekta; not just for standing by her but actively helping her also get a divorce and file restraining orders against that man. She arranged some lawyers as well. Which is why she always talks so nicely about Ekta. It’s not about buttering her up for another show as many presume but for this.

Yes, Ronit owns a security agency. Subhash Ghai is close to him, like a godfather and helped him set this thing up. His agency primarily provides security to Bollywood people, can’t remember what it’s called.

Yeah last I saw Shweta in bharti harsh podcast she was very nice about ekta how life changed well thanks to her. The difference of those people who were rigorously working years and today's many actors and producers who insult each other is insane

Also i remembered Sudha Chandran was in k Street Pali hill, kahi kisi roz, also in nagins. So people who go along are brought back. Like sahil i. Assume and savita actors

No if Amar wasn't there the show wouldn't had worked in my opinion. For Mihir role only two people are fit one Amar and second Ronit Roy. Only these two actors have calibre and screen presence to stand opposite Smriti Irani. Whatever the new fans say but this season Kyonki is revolving around Mihir and tulsi and this is their story in late stage of life. All other characters are supporting roles

For me Ronit did a good job as Mihir in S1. Ofcourse Smriti Amar had more romantic chemistry but Ronit Mihir brought the thehraav in Character. He wasn't the passionate lover or husband who would burn the whole world for his wife but someone who would stand with her and be loyal to her. After the second leap in kyonki S1 when grandkids were introduced Ronit perfectly played the husband who was still waiting for his wife and even thought of giving each other a second chance despite their misunderstandings. Thats what make Ronit Mihir special. And even in last few episodes before show abruptly closed Mihir was seen having dementia and how tulsi was Taking care of him in their modest home. Thats what real representation of a couple looked like

Ekta should’ve ended KZK when Cezzane wanted to quit. The show ended less than a year after he quit as the trps kept going down post his exit. At least that way we could’ve had our AnuPre in the final for which we waited for years after torturing us with that criminal buddha bajaj with Prena. And why did ekta keep wanting to bring in long leaps?? No wonder many actors would quit her shows because they obviously didn’t want to play such old characters when they were young irl. Right now again she’s showing Tuhir in such old characters age when both are 49/50 irl. She shouldn’t brought such a long leap of 6 years and that too so fast when it wasn’t needed and show is still on top. They decided to bring in leap in October when the ratings was 2.2. TOI reported at that time about a long leap coming. Even if she really wanted a leap, the max she could’ve shown was a 2-3 year leap. First introduced TuHir at 38 years marriage when she could’ve reduced and introduced them as 30 years old marriage and now brining such long leap so fast

Story runs into a dead end and she goes for a reboot with a new leap is her de facto mode.

The urge to end a show isn’t strong because it’s not easy to get hit shows on TV, even Ekta has had flops. So when something works and pays, you don’t want to end it. It also affects livelihoods of so many people. Ekta can easily survive even now for the rest of her life in luxury if she stops making any new shows or movies and shuts her PH. But she knows she has set up an empire that runs so many homes today. Even channels are not willing to end popular shows because they know how hard it is to get a hit show.

Indian audiences have also stupidly rejected new formats of shows and other kinds of shows on TV so they have to keep on making more of these absurd trash shows. I mean look at it - 24, Everest, POW, Powder - so many failed high concept shows that the channels invested in and tried to make but they never clicked with the audiences.

Jassi was probably the last successful experiment on TV and that was also over 2 decades ago. So can’t wholly blame the producers and channels either.

Also, Ekta can’t decide when to end a show on her own either much as we would like to blame her and believe. The channel in question has to approve and agree too. As they’re the ones who will have to get a replacement ready regardless of which PH takes over that slot. They have to consider the financial repercussions of the decision; channels make plenty of shows but not all of them work, so they find it harder to end the ones that do. The success and the money coming from those shows keeps them running and able to roll out new shows. Channels in turn are answerable to investors who want their profits. Investors themselves are answerable to their stockholders or financiers and banks. Every single one of them right from the crew of that show sweeping floors to the stockholder makes money when a show is hit, when it has title sponsorship, when it can get a decent ad revenue, when it can perhaps also get a step ahead to get tie-ups for merchandises. In cases of huge franchises and brands like GOT, it could also be about setting studio tours of the sets of these shows.

In short, this is more than one individual’s business decision. We want Ekta to stop making shitty shows but we also don’t want to watch new shows that try to be different.

This is the vicious cycle we are trapped in and I have no clue whatsoever how or when it will break nor who will break it.

The reason why we are in these never ending cycles of leaps across her shows is because when Kyunki did it, the first one, we all welcomed it and loved it, then she did it with KGGK and KZK and the results repeated. The rest is history.

Had we rejected this trend at the beginning we wouldn’t be here today.

But I would say Hiten still did good as revenge seeking Pratham in KZK. He brought the power and determination in Anurag character while cezxane was always the poignant and forgiving lover. His roles in kutumb ,kyonki, KZK and Pavitra Rishta were leading while after that he became a more of side/supporting actors in shows.

Yes, Urvashi is so scarred she decided never to remarry. She doesn’t want her sons to ever get a stepdad because she knows that it might start well but rarely ends well. So she didn’t even try for anything again so as to not traumatise her sons.

Yes, the generation of storytelling transformed in 2000s, it was not a good trend afterALL, Ekta Kapoor and K serials had a big role in it (but i guess every age has its own trend).

ALL said and done, it was her skills, her grit and persistence which was top notch that not only kept her at the top but also made her contemporaries respect her.

One thing everyone would tell was, she never held the employees' payment and infact, paid them well.

Even when people had professional disagreements and disputes, they were open about it and that did not come in the way of their personal equations.

Like, it was said Smriti Irani was not agreeable to Tulsi's portrayal (not sure, possibly around when Gautami was replaced as Tulsi), she even started her own production which produced shows like Viruddh with stalwarts like Vikram Gokhale. She admitted that her admiration for Ekta has only increased.
