Hmm… looks like they’re trying to do something along the lines of Naa Aana Iss Des Laadoo, one of the earliest Colors shows alongside Balika Vadhu that put them on the map. Colors started off on a bang and stood out by making shows that no other channel dared back then on such hard hitting subjects. Of course they went down the drain with Bigg Boss and Naagin eventually too but every now and then they still try to go back to their roots.

Personally, not a fan of the female lead. None of her previous shows have worked for me. Shakti is a good actor but boy his last show has made me cringe every time I look at him, probably because Aditi Sharma who played his wife was so bloody good that my heart sank every time I watched her suffer a betrayal. Her breakdown as she finally learned that her husband was cheating on her with her best friend, the woman she saved from her own abusive ex husband still remains one of the best pieces of acting on Indian TV. Unsure if I can shake that show’s lingering association off.

If they focus on female foeticide, as is the implication here, the show is bound to be controversial but the execution will decide everything else. Laadoo worked because they had a fabulous actress playing the main antagonist on that show. And that’s where it gets tricky. A show on a similar theme on the same channel is undoubtedly going to get compared with Laadoo, it’s not technically a new story. So what would set it apart is gonna be its ultimate challenge and determine its eventual fate.

That silsila show traumatized so many. It hit me too at the time and so many others who are watching it with me. On Reddit every other day there’s a topic on silsila as people have been still upset over it. I didn’t like the writing of the show. Drashti got so much hate and Shakti too for their fictional characters. Even Drashti’s mom wasn’t spared and was told how what kind of daughter she has born and she should’ve never given birth to her. I wish Drashti and Shakti never signed that show. I hope this show is great as I loved Ishvi’s chemistry in Ghum and now this promo has increased my interest because of the issue discussed. Such issue is close to me as well. Reshmi’s past shows have been successful so hoping she does well here too

I think it was very brave of Shakti and Drasthi to do that show but boy was it also slightly dumb because dear god, if they knew Mouli was gonna be a victim here all along from day one… then wow.

I think the show traumatised many as it’s not just another show on EMAs or with a plot on EMA involving the main male lead but because it’s so realistic that it also hit home for many. Usually the other women in shows are strangers that pop up suddenly between the two main leads, but here they made it the childhood best friend of the female lead. Worse, they made her rescue this friend from a monster of a man and then take her in her own home out of the goodness of her heart, her ample trust in her friend and husband. It becomes more tragic because she doesn’t even suspect them until it’s too late. When she finds out, her devastation is absolutely heartbreaking and too real for words.

The script, the intended storyline might have been one thing but Aditi ate them there. She literally made anyone with a heart weep. Her performance was so raw, so beautiful and so painful that I can’t even watch it again unless I want to get a good cry to relieve myself.

That’s where shit hit fan for Shakti and Drashti I think. They probably never imagined what kind of a behemoth they’re going to be working with and what her single scene would unleash. Though it’s news to me that her mum was hounded too, I knew these two were but wow… never knew her mom wasn’t spared either.

Crazy how Aditi still remains so underrated despite that show and performance. I don’t understand really. She’s stunning and truly talented but hasn’t been as popular or successful as so many others who really pale in comparison to her when it comes to talent.

Rashmi produced a very disgusting show called ‘Suhaagan’ a while back. Uss main bhi FL mute thi. I don’t have any expectations from her.

Drashti was offered both roles, but she chose Nandini’s role as she wanted to do something different. But the writers only showed and wrote Mouli’s character well while neglecting her and Shakti’s character. They made the fall in love phase look stupid and made them do sleeping shamelessly before divorce or anything which I doubt both knew that’s what writers were going to do when signing up the show. I guess they were trying to show how these things can happen IRL. Because there are such cases. As it is no matter what happens, when something like this happens there’s no justification, no defending the cheaters.

It would have been perhaps a different story if they had made Nandini Kunal bond over Mouli, who was either dead or dying and fall in love. Or if Mouli had been a bad wife or had an affair herself or they made it seem like she encouraged the relationship between these two like Rani in Chori Chori Chupke Chupke for a child or something. But they didn’t go there. Instead they made Nandini ungrateful and selfish which was worse than what Kunal did in a way because Mouli rescued her but she stabbed her in the back in the worst possible way.
