Shreya, organising the month means selecting the theme >> announcement, >> divide the participants into balanced teams and Team names etc.

As a norm, I am declaring the BTRC results and awarding the badges. If they want to announce results, they should've informed me. If they are organising for the month, they have to discuss it with me, because, I am the moderator of this forum.

I tried my best to pacify them because I know how hard it is to prepare a thread and siggies etc. I requested them to keep those winner siggies for the next month because I genuinely appreciate Vera's work.

Being as our CM I am requesting you to make both parties come to an amicable solution. I am expecting this from you as a higher mod and a well-experienced CM.

Madz may I point you to Riya's thread asking for volunteers? Please read this paragraph once again and I'll even bold and highlight the important line for you. I'll let you reach the conclusion on your own.

But apart from that, everything else is up for change - themes, teams, special achievement siggies etc etc. The BTRC for the month that you sign-up for will be entirely your baby, and your responsibility.

There is no amicable solution at this point. I leave it to Vera and Shibz but honestly nothing can be done at this point and "saving the siggies for next month" doesn't do much since Vera would still have to edit and remake the siggies for the new theme and team that wins.

You decided to take over without even bothering to ask. Vera and Shibz put so much hard work into the results and siggies. They had everything ready and were just giving people an extra few days to finish updating their book lists. You not only took over the results, but made siggies and then posted the results without bothering to consult the actual people who had volunteered to run that month. That's not on them and they did not need to tell you anything. They were doing things based on Riya's request for volunteers. Not based on what had been done in the past.

I was going to volunteer to put up Book Bingo in Jan with whoever volunteered to do BTRC. But no thanks. I'll come with Book Bingo when and if Riya comes back.

In the meantime, get ready. CCs are coming with Secret Santa for December and then I'm coming with a new game in Jan and then LCI returns in Feb. smiley16 The next few months are going to be fun and games, Shreya ishtyle. smiley15

Wait..wait, in the previous months,in June, July, in August and in Oct Lizzie posted the announcement thread, and I posted the results. I followed that, but, just now I checked, in September, it was announced and posted Results in the same thread by Lizzie, because, I was busy travelling at that time.

Even Vijay mentioned at that time, better to post separately and make results thread GA because, the badges are good. I mentioned this to Lizzie as well.

It seems, there is a big confusion. At least you should've mentioned it prior to my post! Happily, I preferred to relax for a while. Anyway, I am sorry for this situation. Let us better communicate before posting from now onwards.

While checking the October results thread, I saw Vera's winner siggies. Those were excellent. I am requesting both of you--- please post the Dec Results thread and requesting Vera to keep those winner siggies, let us use those with changes in Dec results thread.

Just one question. You do realise team differs from one month to other, right ? Not to mention this month has a theme.

Like how you propose to "use" those siggies? Assuming I want to put in any time re-doing them at all.

The onus was on the moderator of the forum to check with the people who were responsible for the month, not the other way around.

Thank you Shreya for understanding our hardwork. That is all the acknowledgement I need. smiley27

Yay, Bookchesters won! Good job, guy and gals smiley40

Retiring with a flawless 1/1 captain record 🤣 ✨

I was honestly hesitant to take up the responsibility (blame my usual laid-back energy smiley36), but Shibz & V , you’re the real MVPs. You made this captain gig way too easy with your A+ organisation and magical Gsheet skills 🫡💛

Vera, I think there has been a misunderstanding here, and I want to clarify my point.

My request regarding the siggies was simply based on the fact that the designs you made earlier were excellent, and I thought reusing the newly prepared ones with necessary updates/changes for December would save time for everyone. It was a suggestion, not an instruction, and certainly not an assumption that you are obligated to redo anything.

Also, regarding the Results process, yes, the moderator does hold responsibility, and I have always followed the format used in previous months. The inconsistency in September happened only because I was travelling, and even Vijay had suggested at that time that results be put in a separate GA thread. That is the reason I followed that structure now.

However, the way you responded was unnecessary. A simple clarification would have sufficed. We are all volunteering our time here, and basic respect in communication is expected from everyone involved.

Going forward, let us ensure better coordination from all sides before posting; this applies to everyone involved, not just the moderator. This will avoid confusion and unnecessary friction.
