I guess idk directors want the family to look real thats why they are giving normal faces for once

I mean irl not every family member has good face cards or look like they are supermodels.

It’s not the looks that bother me - it’s the weak acting and truthfully there’s no decent actor in the new generation.

I mean I don’t even understand why they are making Angad, Hrithik say Papa like that in that typical thick Gujarati accent when none of their other words lean heavily on the same. They have been shown as born and raised in Mumbai, well educated in reputed schools of top tier… but they have to speak Papa in that manner? Really?

There’s no subtlety, nuances and range in the expressions of the new generation. So I personally don’t have any favourites in this generation. The fact that the writing doesn’t help them either just adds to the overall feel.

Her character was supposed to be antiheroine/ grey in shade, I get it, but I think the performance of the actress, the way the character has shaped up and the excessive amount of attention to her was not working for the show earlier so they have started sidelining her and now since they want to show her as a victim perhaps of someone like Ranvijay they’re trying to find some way in which she could be redeemed or get likeable at least so as to perhaps generate some sympathy when her Rannn is exposed.
Unfortunately, that’s bridge under the water now as far as this character goes.

They tried to model her after Bhoomi, who was spoiled by Karan and Tanya in S1, but they failed to cast an actress who could deliver like Reshmi did and for all her faults I think they had shown that Bhoomi had a genuine soft spot for Karan and truly loved him even though for a while she distanced herself from him when she found out he wasn’t her biological father. She grew to love Nandini and had a bond with Manthan that made her either wanna slap him or protect him depending on the situation, so a typical sibling relationship smiley36

Pari has no genuine connection with anyone, not even one of her siblings or a friend or even the man who dotes on her more than his own biological children - Mihir.

I’m really unsure what is the reason behind Tulsi being so lenient with her to the point where she allows this girl to walk all over her. I mean this is the same woman who didn’t flinch when Ansh was threatening her and her family, and she slapped him despite knowing that he’s involved with the underworld. Here she barely reacts. It makes no sense whatsoever at all.

I think the writers are not sure how to make Pari a bit likeable or at least relatable because they want the audience to feel bad for her when she discovers that Ranvijay was only using her for her money. But she’s become as unlikeable as Ansh and they don’t even know how to get Tulsi to shoot her and make her fly midair for 4 episodes in a row before they write off her character completely as well since she’s too lazy and too stupid to be even a smuggler like Ansh was smiley36

They have ruined Pari's character to an extent that people are not going to feel bad for her when she will learn RV's truth. They can show her leaving SN forever and take sanyas out of guilt and everybody will be like good riddance lol

And I dislike that saiyyara song at this point because I never watched that movie. It feels so overrated and the first time I ever listened to that song properly was on abhimoron 🤢

i also said that besides the third angle and multiple marriages plots , there are many other story/tracks to show between a happliy married couple. I don't know why ekta and her writers don't want to move on beyond what they have already shown in the 2000's era. In Pakistani serials , so many different topics are shown involving mature couples.

i think the accent and whole character writing is wrong

Pari, who was a full blown evil vamp is now reduced to a flawed character

That time Ekta used to take great actors and the writing was also much better. They should’ve just exposed and punished Pari after court scene. May be then we would’ve felt bad for her. I am hoping and feeling that may now she will expose herself on her own due to guilt after Ranvijay is exposed

He also had normal face in Kyunki but had great screen presence with great acting as Karan that he was so loved and became like a ML of the show along with Tulsi after Amar’s quitting. Agree about hritik because even though he also isn’t the best actor but his looks and his acting somehow fits the character of rithik. But I liked him more in the beginning. Now he has been just here and there, but these days he’s been picking up again. I liked his scene with Mitali today

I think the X factor is missing in the entire new generation. It’s not just the positive characters but the negative ones too. I mean take a look at Kyunki itself that has had such fantastic performances from even the actors who have played negative roles be it Payal, Sejal, Mandira to Tripti and Ansh, who is perhaps the biggest villain of the show. Even when we talk about characters who could be considered grey as they were never consistently evil nor continued to be good forever be it Savita, Tanya and later Bhoomi.

All the actors were fabulous, we could hate them because they inspired those emotions within us.

The most this generation does is annoy us and that’s more to do with how inconsistent the characters are and how monotonous the acting is. Kinda sucks that this generation cannot even produce a decent negative character played by a good actor.

I mean look at Ansh, Shasha, Yudi - 3 different characters, 3 different actors and 3 different shows - all of them were negative and yet are still iconic because of the combination of good writing, perfect casting and exceptional performances by actors so brilliant that we wanted to see their characters get slapped, beat and killed; and enjoyed when it happened too.

I doubt we would even enjoy watching Pari getting her just dues because the actress and the character just don’t make an impact.

Noyna is the main negative character and yet they’re presenting her more like Rekha from Silsila who lost her love to Jaya for no fault of hers rather than Rekha IRL who still publicly pines for a much married man, which makes her pathetic and truthfully disgusting rather than some sort of tragic diva who was born to suffer.

Barkha as a veteran actress can perhaps pull off the complete negative turn of her character too, but these writers aren’t even going there yet! That’s the problem. They have an able actress but they refuse to give her the material that would make us want to root for her downfall just because we hate her so. Right now Noyna doesn’t inspire hate as much as disgust and anger, but not hate. Especially when they make it seem like Mihir slept with her, is giving her mixed signals and she’s simply trying to make the most of his mixed signals while refusing to be discarded as a tissue paper he can use and throw away. She irks us as viewers but we can’t help but understand her feelings about her refusal to let Mihir use and throw her away. There’s nothing wrong with her wanting to hold Mihir accountable… which is the problem. She can’t be considered evil if she’s got a valid reason to make Mihir jump through hoops regardless of her methods.

They need to be clear about what they want and deliver upon the same.

I think she’s probably trying but there’s no hope. I mean is there any new face launched by another PH as well around that has X factor in the recent years?

The better actors are older and experienced and hence expensive. The new actors are well… they’re what they are.

I think the truly talented young actors are all trying to get into OTT more than TV perhaps because of the kind of exposure it may provide with the kind of content that is different even if the pay might not be similar. Because I do see new faces on OTT that show potential but not so much on TV. Look at Jittu from Panchayat, Laksh in Bads of Bollywood, can’t remember the name but the main lead of Bandish Bandits…

On TV we had Hiten, Rajeev, Harshad, Sushant among the men before who are all fantastic actors; among the women it’s Jennifer, Aditi Sharma, Divyanka, Pratyusha etc. before but now I don’t think we can think of one name that might be relevant a decade later in this industry from the fresh lot.

Agree about the past villains. Those actors and characters were so good. I don’t know why they aren’t showing Noina as a full villian because I sure don’t have any sympathy for her, and I have not heard one having any sympathy for her despite makers keep trying to her as some sort of victim. I heard Ekta somewhere said to her that her character won’t be dramatic and all. But at least make her full villian because for most she’s already worse than a vamp. So why just not cut the bandage.

As for Mihir, she’s completely delulu. I don’t think that night anything happened (I am still waiting for full confirmation) because last time in US too she manipulated him to think as if something happened between them. Mihir felt so guilty that they slept at the time until Hemant came and cleared everything to him. I don’t know if she actually believes that way or she knows the reality but manipulates Mihir this way. Last time Hemant came and saved him. Else don’t know what this woman would’ve done. Now I think she may be again believing in her delulu mind that they slept or she is aware of the reality that they didn’t but manipulating Mihir.

After Shweta, Smriti, Divyanka, Drashti, Adaa Khan. etc the last ones who where good were the 2 Surbhis. After that I haven’t been impressed with any except a little bit by Bhavika. She is the only one I was impressed with among the new actors, but may be it’s also because her character in Ghum2 was written very well as ganja kinda write fls better. But she is still nowhere the same level as the previous itv actresses. Other than her, I can’t remember any actress among the new ones that I could like as much based on talent like the old itv actors
