Book world misogyny is sometimes worse in other genres. Crime/thrillers - a lot of female characters aren't great. Have you read/watched Gone Girl?

That cold justice series book 1, it was very interesting and political part was great but absolutely rubbish climax where all secrets come out, they hastily ended the bad guy and a surprise pregnancy

I can't wrap my head around how do you get happy with pregnancy with a guy you know for 3 weeks? Please please be realistic. And suddenly these fls are so attached to baby and their life is all about the baby. Like ew your life is in shit how can you bring another life and ruin her/his too?

Day dreamer by susie tate. We are shown the fl has some disease she's always cold, she gets this secretary job cause her mother used to be nanny to a kid and he's rich now. The 50% book was how she's cold. Grovel was okayish but again she gave up too easily. The guy didn't listen when she said no. The girl apparently is very rich too cause she's a big shot writer, then why she's working in a office? Cause she loves the guy. Yawnnnnnnnn

Yep watched gone girl movie it's great. The monologue about how guy's want their women, fantastic.

Fanfic I have been following a few out of spite cause i want to see how it ends, also so that I can laugh and curse the stupid direction story is going lol. It will give me early bp but whatever man k🤣🤣🤣

I get so mad how the guy constantly belittle the fl calling her stupid silly vain, he never apologize and she just brush it aside. And it's always that one guy sexually manipulating the girl, touching her when she didn't consent and she has that fear too that if she speaks up he will do you know what. That's not romantic. That's crime petrol

Sometimes I feel i nitpick too much. And maybe I do. But I am also hoping for that one book. Or maybe the time when I won't have to think too much about these fck all stories I an reading so I can be at peace 🙏

Surprise pregnancy is a trope I don't like unless it's done very well... which is hardly ever. i think there was one book I hate read in which they had a ONS whilst in college and the FL got pregnant but she wanted nothing to do with the ML. I can't remember why I didn't really like it - it was book 4 in a series - but I remember this part of it was there in the begining. Anyway, yeah I wish authors would handle this trope better if they're using it.

Another book I won't be touching lol. I would love to see more grumpy/cold heroines though. If grumpy guys don't have a disease then neither do the heroines. 😡

I have only seen clips of the movie so I don't know how faithful the adaption is but I've read the book twice and both times, I enjoyed the clever twists and character portrayals. I think it's a good book to try the crime/psychological thriller genre. I described Gone Girl as a book club read so take that as you want lol.

There's one fanfic that annoys me because I have to call myself out. The guy was horrible to the FL and she honestly deserves better than him but I want to see if the author can redeem him somehow. I'm enjoying the other aspects that I want to continue reading anyway haha.

Haven't try bones yet cause of hectic pressure wala work that's taking up my time. These days i scroll YouTube and fangirl over a sportman lol that's it. I am not getting the mood to watch anything new. Not even writing. I imagine all sorts of things and then I don't write. Idk when this slump will go

Grumpy sunshine is fine to an extent you know both are having banter fights. I think my issue is girls keeping quiet, sometimes they will speak up hut then these ml start to manhandle the girls. I am looking for that equal push and pull. And yeah love at first sight ew no. Insta lust is no no too. Sometimes it's ml pov and all you read about how he finds the fl sexy. That's not love. I find that very weird that these men can only think how hot the body is nothing about mind heart or intelligence

I liked bloomies stories. When I had joined Arjun forum there were good writers back then. There is a story I still remember, very angsty but the way author had written it, tension emotion angst that was fantastic..I had one close friend back then she used to write really good thriller stories. In recent years bloomies stories I liked. I was following ariya in cid and another story. She gets the tone of arjun really well I had commented that in one of her story. But i think when you write continuously basing on same setup, after a point all stories blend in your mind.

As of now both cid etf stories are ongoing and I stopped following both lol

I think women writers really care about male pride over female pride. If a ml is at 100 in his emotions at the start of story, by the end he's at a 50 at max. His character remains same. I have noticed it's the women who has to go through every drama to get the prize of a man. To think even pride prejudice is same. Darcy comments that Elizabeths family is low class. She never replied that his friends are snooty rude. It was only about his pride. And Darcy don't really change. He opens up more. In contrast to Elizabeth going through all revelations all changes herself. Her world shifts.

Lol are we following same story 🤣 I am following a story again out of spite. It's a bs story. It's p0rn at this point. But writing is fantastic and use of Sanskrit is really good. That's the silver lining

You know there are books out there where ml fl both are serial killers lol. I think I am fine with toxic manipulative men. I just want the fl to match with him.

When they're in a relationship and there's a surprise pregnancy, the dynamics are different because they're in an established relationship. I don't think I've read many with that dynamic tbh. But the ones I was talking about are where the ML and FL don't know each other well and she gets pregnant. I find I don't usually enjoy because it's harder for the author to write a relationship where I can root for the couple and either the pregnancy is the focal point but it's barely mentioned.

Yes, I like reading about romances between equals. That's my problem with a lot of single dad romances and some boss/employee ones. If one is in a position of power over the other, I need to see that dynamic being equal in some way. Maybe she's bossing him around outside of work or she calls him out.

The reason I'm putting single-dad and boss/employee together is because the single dad often falls for the FL caregiver of his child which drives me crazy. You don't get that with the single mother romances (which is good).

Anytime I see ML starts to manhandle the FL or heading in that direction, I will stop reading that book. Life's too short haha.

For Arjun, I've mostly read bloomie's work and that's what got me into the forum. I really love her versions of Arjun because like you said she writes the tone really well but he's a rootable hero and the relationship between Riya and him feels equal.

See I disagree because I feel like both Elizabeth and Darcy have to face their respective pride and prejudices. It's just the story is following Elizabeth so we don't really see the revelations and shift in viewpoint for Darcy.

Her reply to him was all focused on his behaviour and actions. She doesn't bring anyone into it because she doesn't need to. But Darcy likes Elizabeth, his only 'problem' with her is her family and lack of money. So he needs to realise that he was wrong to judge. especially when his aunt is worse than Mrs Bennet.

So for me, both male and female pride is being explored her. Elizabeth's pride was hurt by Darcy's first comment. Had she not heard that, perhaps she wouldn't have been so determined to dislike him lol.

Forum wala cid story it had a good opportunity to show arjun completely stuck in a case he can't get out, and maybe cid would be as psychologically physically hurt him like he does to criminals, like a way he see other side of crime life. But I felt cheated cause almighty omnipotent arjun planned everything. Come on. Let the guy suffer lol i dislike cocky men except for damon Salvatore 🤣🤣😁😘
