Has anyone been watching the new show "Maana Ke Hum Yaar Nahi" on Star Plus?

It's been ages since I have followed an ITV show, but this looks quite interesting; normal, middle-class main leads (for now) who are struggling to make ends meet. Krishna, the male protagonist is a con artist while Khushi, our female protagonist irons clothes for a living.

The rest of the plot and family background of the leads is nothing to write home about. There is also a potential contract marriage in the cards. But their current bicker-banter dynamic is quite enjoyable, that one emotional moment they had together was quite tender, and there seems to be no third angle in the picture for now (phew). Also, Manjeet Makkar as Krishna is a treat to watch.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but how could we request for a forum for the show?

Surprisingly, the story has gotten better. ML especially is pretty good, right now show is showcasing good track ML's vulnerability.

Couldn't find a forum in the star plus forum either and was interested to discuss it. If the show can focus more on the leads and try to balance SS with focusing on the crux being the leads' dynamics, it can do good.

have requested for a forum in the site issues thread.

Happy to see another MKHYN enthusiast here. I was lurking around IF to see if there were others interested in the show or if there were any discussions going on. So far I have only seen that on Twitter. Thanks for requesting the forum, we can now discuss the show in peace!

The leads, and particularly the ML—his charm, his personality, his vulnerability, have impressed me so much. I love that he's not the usual rich, angry, emotionally-constipated male lead who gets into the stupidest of misunderstandings about the FL and orders her around. I also like Khushi, and though she's the quintessential struggling, sacrificing female lead, she is atleast not backing down in front of anyone or anything.

I have mostly been skipping the rich family drama for now. I guess we will have to unfortunately tolerate the drama for the show to generate enough TRP. As you said, they need to balance the drama with the leads' dynamics and I'm genuinely surprised that we are not seeing much online buzz about their chemistry. It's far better than whatever crap is being shown on TV now!

haha, no problem. So recent episode revealed Krishna being linked to Nandita's long lost grandson.smiley36 Not surprised. Regarding Khushi, I feel she seems like a stickler for her principles. Upcoming precap looks interesting with Khushi-Krishna and the references towards the contract marriage thing. smiley36I feel she's kinda overdoing and should give Krishna a chance to prove himself.smiley36

Now that Khushi is selling her ironing stall and both of them agreeing for the contract marriage, I'm sad that they will now move into Nandita's rich mansion. I was hoping for some more of the normal-setting romance. Sigh!

Bold: So true. Khushi is pretty hardcore, I mean I was shocked to hear her say that she would sell her kidney or even herself to save her dad.

Maybe she could've taken Krishna's money with the logic that since he is the reason for her dad's situation, he fixes it or something.

I thought - that gradpa may hire khushi (on judge's referral) for nandita's care and lend her money for her father's treatment!

It would be a believable excuse if krishna-khusi in contract marriage ... to connect krishna to his family unknowingly!

Bold: i think thats where the contract marriage might come into play and the fake marriage will be set up so that Krishna's grandfather might save what rightfully belongs to Dimpy and her child. that is the expected theory but lets see.

Seems like the makers are heading for the contract marriage track. Bantering is fun as usualsmiley36

I can't wait for the contract marriage track to begin. We've had too much of crying and hospital scenes the last week, now all we need are more Khushi-Krishna scenes. Thankfully the fun banter is back with yesterday's US-returned Krishna avatar. Phew!! 🙌

Btw, the TRP for last few weeks are low though (0.8). I hope it picks up once the marriage track starts. One thing I hate about watching ITV shows is worrying and stressing about ratings every week.

Also, any idea when we would get a forum for MKHYN?
