karishma blindly follow mothers words

hence shes always in trouble

she also was flop for first 6 years because of this only

also her personal life flop as she just married a rich man as her mom ordered without thinking how he will be in future

bebo is an opportunist and is more independent and not under mothers control much

hence she made clever moves in personal life first made shahid bf to stay in lime light as all her movies were flopping till 2007

than she caught saif an nawab very rich and a bit aged so straying at later age after 40 plus is less by men as health issues etc start and they want family to take care protect them

karishma life is what happens when you blindly follow parents orders in life

kareena is what happens to kids who rebel and do their own things in life than be blindly obedient to parents or elders

Some people are born lucky and Kareena is that. She used to be a horrendous actor who did so many crap films loaded with her overacting. One Geet completely changed the trajectory of her career and how people look at her. During Karishma's time , post the 30's the actresses din't get popular lead roles. By the time Kareena aged, times changed, the industry changed, OTT came in, better female roles began to be written for older actresses ( and rightfully so) . Kareena can now pick and choose meaty roles on OTT or movies and stay afloat. Karishma did not have that privilege.

Karishma was a single mother with 2 small kids at the time of divorce. She did a few films that didn't do well.

Apart from having different upbringings in education and family life, Karisma got forced into the filmindustry to bring money to the table whilst Kareena - when starting - had a different approach even how to debute. Karisma had a relationship for several years with her co-star Ajay Devgn which went nowhere and later a year-long one with Abhishek who wanted to marry her but hadn't the guts to go against the allegations made against Karisma and failed to stand by her. To save whatever image, Karisma then got forced into a marriage with a rich man who treated her as (a part of) his possession(s).

So a big no from my side to pitch these two women against each other - in whichever way. I'm happy that their sisterhood eventually won over all the differences smiley1.

Better roles for older actresses’ didn’t just appear out of thin air. There is a face behind that shift, and it’s Kareena.
While PC was out here playing the older ugly wife and the older sister to Ranveer, and even mother to Zaira Wasim, Kareena was still headlining films with younger actors like Arjun, Imran, Diljit, giving a blockbuster with Akshay, and opening an all female film with one of the highest numbers, all while still looking the part.

All of that adds up. The industry saw older actresses still have it.

But of course, your selective feminism and activism won’t ever give her credit. Everything becomes “luck” when it comes to her. Sad

Ab PC ugly bhi ho gayi??? Waah!

Even PC got lucky because films like Mary Kom, Gangajal 2, 7 khoon maaf would not even be greenlit back in the early 2000. Vidya headlined so many films without any male star. Luck factor I mentioned in comparison with Karishma not Kareena's contemporaries. Multiplex era, the urban audience and now OTT helps female actors get better roles now. Someone like Urmila for example would have gotten great roles if she would have had her debut in the 2000s.

I’m not even talking about women centric films, I mean longevity as a leading actress, which has changed completely today, and a big chunk of that credit goes to Kareena. The first one to keep starring as a proper leading lady for the longest time. It shifted how producers and directors looked at Bollywood heroines.

Bhansali wanted her to play the older, “ugly” wife, but she insisted on Mastani. Sure, she lost out on a good role, but in the long run she ended up achieving something way bigger.
