On serious note, I think rather than saying forgive your father and reconnect with him, she should have suggested, forgive him and move on for her own peace of mind. Right now, Farhana is stuck with hatred towards him (which is perfectly okay). But Farhana needs her own peace of mind for future relations. I may be wrong as these kind of things belong to experts but the chances are if she doesn't move on, she might have trust issues.
