You see their relationship progress and grow from awkward to absolutely beautiful. Karan becomes the son who might not be her blood but is the child of her heart and the one she probably grows to love the most too. He absolutely adores and worships her in turn.

She wants that engagement to end and then for any kind of discussion or progression in Angad and Vrinda’s relationship which is a fair and reasonable thing to want and ask of her son.

She already told him she liked Vrinda since before and when she’s angry and slapped him, she does tell him that I repeatedly asked you if you’re sure of Mittali and want to marry her, if you like her or not. Which is again true. Tulsi was angry because Angad was given multiple chances to deny to get engaged.

He even went ahead with the engagement after exposing Mittali spreading rumours about him having an affair with Vrinda in front of Mihir himself. He tells his dad that he can’t get married to a girl with whom there are already such trust issues, forget about there being anything else that’s much more concrete like love and friendship or attraction for him to want to marry her.

He should have never agreed to get engaged to her and stuck to his guns after that. Mihir would’ve eventually understood that his son is not wrong in wanting the bare minimum - trust and decency - from his fiancé. Love can happen post marriage too once they are together but trust and decency are not something that you can eventually grow into a relationship. They are either there or not.
