Kuldeep Yadav Or Varun Chakravarthy?

If India want to play Arshdeep Singh, they'll have to drop either Kuldeep Yadav or Varun Chakravarthy. Kuldeep is a very potent bowler, but Varun brings an element of mystery which India might prefer over Kuldeep's left-arm chinamen

India landed the early punches, but it was rain which had the final say in the first T2)I in the Australian capital city of Canberrea. The two teams have now headed west to the majestic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) for the second of the 5-match T20I series. In the 9.4 overs of cricket possible at the Manuka Oval, India showed why they're one of the most feared T20I outfits going around. Abhishek Sharma provided the early spark, but India would be delighted with Suryakumar Yadav's efforts with the bat. The Indian skipper had been through a mean phase with the bat this year and the runs in Canberra couldn't have come at a better time. With the 2026 T20 World Cup fast approaching, a rejuvenated Suryakumar will only be a massive boost for the Indian psyche. Australia's bowling was average in Canberra, but half an innings ain't any parameter and they'll back themselves to bounce back. Another thrilling contest between bat and ball? Showers are predicted once again for the day, but hopefully we'll get a full match underway.

I know that when you think India and Australia today, you're probably still thinking about the historic night in Navi Mumbai that transpired yesterday, but for the next few hours, it's time to switch focus from the DY Patil Stadium to the MCG. There may not be as much at stake today as there was yesterday, but it still promises to be a cracking contest against two very strong teams, who will look to fine-tune their sides leading up to the T20 World Cup early next year. Rain denied us a result in the first game, making this effectively the series-opener, and it should be a grand event in front of what should be a sellout crowd in Melbourne as Mitch Marsh and co. look to flex their muscles against Suryakumar Yadav's swashbuckling India. Two teams playing high-risk, high-aggression cricket at one of the most iconic venues. What more can you ask for?

Before today's game begins, there will be a tribute paid to Ben Austin, the 17-year-old cricketer who died on Thursday in a training accident. And both teams and match officials will wear black armbands in today's game.smiley19

Here's Aaron Finch's pitch report: "It's overcast and cold. I think it might get a touch slower as the game goes on, but overall, brilliant wicket for batting." SKY and Marsh are out there, having a laugh before the toss as they exchange team sheets.

Ravi Shastri does his high-energy introduction and asks for the coin to be tossed. Marsh tosses it, and SKY calls it wrong. Australia win the toss and bowl.
