There wasn't too much to be gleaned from 9.4 overs in Canberra, but India's top order had made an early statement and they looked set for a hefty total as Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav motored at 10 an over. Not that this Australian side would have been overawed by that, given their own batting power which has shone across the last three series, although India's spin trio would have been a fascinating challenge to overcome and will likely remain so in Melbourne.

AUS vs IND Probable Best Performers of the Match

Probable Best Batter - Abhishek Sharma

In the first game, the young opening batter Abhishek Sharma looked where he left off from the Asia Cup. The southpaw showed his aggressive intent right from the first ball. Despite hitting four boundaries, he got out on 19. Abhishek will look come in fresh for the upcoming match.

Probable Best Bowler - Josh Hazlewood

Josh Hazlewood could be the best bowler in the upcoming second T20I against. The veteran pacer was able to finish three off his overs in the 9.4 overs played. Conceding 24 runs in his spell, Hazlewood got some movement off the pitch, looking to trouble Abhishek and Gill. The pacer will be hoping to make the most of the Melbourne pitch and get wickets.

Players like Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, and Shivam Dube have made waves with their explosive T20 batting, bringing power and aggression to the line-up. Until recently, however, India had been waiting for their skipper to deliver big scores consistently. In the series opener, Suryakumar answered that call with a quickfire 39 off 24 balls, including a towering 125-metre six off Josh Hazlewood, showcasing his return to form.

India head into the second T20I against Australia at the massive MCG in Melbourne on Friday brimming with confidence, buoyed by the emergence of young talent and the resurgence of captain Suryakumar Yadav.

With a washout in the first game, this is now a four-game series, and an early lead will be critical to winning the series. Speaking about the team combination, India went in with a heavy spin attack, with Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy, and Axar Patel being included. India also made a surprise move and played Harshit Rana ahead of Arshdeep Singh. Melbourne wicket assists pacer, so there could be a chance of India playing Arshdeep in place of either Kuldeep Yadav or Varun Chakravarthy.

Meanwhile, Australia should play the same team for the second T20I, as there wasn't much they could take out from the first game. They are missing Adam Zampa and Glenn Maxwell for the first two games, and changes should come when the key players return. Meanwhile, rain could play spoilsport again in the second T20I.

Toss Time

The toss for the second T20I will take place at 1:15 PM IST, but with rain around, there could be a delay in the toss if the ground is not ready for play.

No Nitish Reddy For India

India will be without the services of Nitish Reddy, who will miss the second and third T20Is due to neck spasms
