Team combination and weather could decide India’s fate

Team combination and prevailing conditions remain key factors for India at Adelaide Oval. Batting coach Sitanshu Kotak explained that decisions on playing three specialist pacers versus including Kuldeep or Nitish Reddy depend on the pitch and overall balance.

If the team opts for three pacers, Prasidh Krishna could replace Harshit Rana, who struggled in the first ODI. Krishna may lack consistency at times but has the ability to deliver magic deliveries under pressure.

For all plans to succeed, India needs favourable weather. While showers have affected practice sessions, the forecast for Thursday currently looks clear. A dry day would allow India to execute its strategies fully and give senior batters like Rohit and Kohli the platform to anchor the innings and lead the team in a must-win encounter.

I was coughing loudly and my colleagues were giving me a "are you all right" look.

How can I tell them that I was coughing because, we lost the toss yet again.smiley13

Shubman Gill: We would have bowled first as well. Happy to bat first. Never easy when it rains, starting and stopping. The weather looks good today, hopefully no stoppages today. Batting first, hopefully we'll get plenty of runs on the board. And then get some movement under lights when we have the ball in our hand. We are going with the same team.

Mitchell Marsh: We are gonna bowl first. It was really pleasing (win in the 1st ODI). A lot of positives from last year. One of the better pitchers in the country this year. Everyone loves coming to play here. We always get amazing crowds, and hopefully both teams put on a great show for the big crowd today. Any time you get a chance to win a series in game two, it's an awesome opportunity. We've got a lot of young guys, so I look forward to it. Alex Carey comes in for Philippe. Xavier Bartlett comes in for Ellis.

Australia have won the toss and have opted to field

@Bold, now you can't because we lost the toss.

Mitchell Starc to Gill, no run, 141ks short of length with a hint of extra bounce on off, Gill jumps on the back foot and drops it with soft hands into the off-side
