Smriti irani is not only known for kyunki but also for virudh and maniben.

Anupamaa is not a big change in ITV as itself its a copy of bengali soap opera.

RS started the whole drama and smriti hitting back at them is not wrong

Ekta gave the main foundation to ITV and RS is just a part of the numbers of producers in industry.Ekta is at top of industry.

S2 didn't work btw. And here's the interesting part. And S1 was goid but not comparable at all, to the impact of Kyunki.

Season 2 or sequels of most popular shows have either flopped or were mediocre to terrible.

They generally don't work.

Balika Vadhu 2, Saubhagya wati bhava 2, Pratigya 2, IPKKND 3, Saathiya 2 (once Modi's left), Sasural simar ka 2, BALH 2 (low trp), Tu Suraj main saanjh piyaji (Diya aur baati hum sequel) .

And then came Kyunki.

While Kyunki 1 made History, Kyunki 2 has defied history and created its own being a hit as sequel at a late slot of 10:30 pm.

Smriti is right, nobody will remember Anupaama 25 years from now.

Just remembered, Sarabhai also didn’t get aired on TV despite being revived. The show went directly to OTT and was cancelled midseason due to poor reception.

We never knew what the OG cast was offered for coming back but we have heard how with Kyunki S2, Smriti casually took away the mantle of highest paid TV actress from Rupali too and set the bar so high that it’s virtually impossible for Shahi to match it let alone top it, unless he wants to go broke to pay one person more than twice her current contract price and set off a domino effect he’s not prepared to handle and get buried under.

So there’s even this tidbit to consider. Comes back on TV after a decade, revives an old character and casually walks away with a much bigger cheque than anyone else setting up a record that will perhaps not be broken easily by anyone for a long time to come. Will be hilarious if Saakshi also gets a comeback and gets paid equal to or close to Smriti for doing the same thing, the meltdown will be probably more entertaining than anything else we have onscreen.

Guess some things never change.

Ratna, Satish and Rajesh proved you could be funny without being loud.

The writers are the true stars of Sarabhai for me and without Ratna pulling off Maya, Sarabhai would have never became iconic.

There was no dearth of actresses who could have easily played Monisha but Maya Sarabhai was indispensable and irreplaceable. Get her casting wrong and the show fails from the get go. It was Maya and her reactions as well as her personal equation with the other characters that made the show iconic. Without her disses aimed at Indravadhan, coddling of Rosesh and exasperated taunts aimed at Monisha, Sarabhai would have disappeared without a single bleep.

Anupamaa as a show is so weird, and the actress being salty doesn't help either. Never liked Rupali she’s so rude and disrespectful. Even her co-stars don’t like her.

Oh pls prime Kyunki can eat 100 Anupamas for breakfast

The fact that Tulsi never has a Nayi Udaan every couple of months in and of itself is enough

Tulsi was a homemaker and stuck to being one even when she solved problems or killed her son who just so happened to be a drug lord also. Her character never deviates from being who she is and not once is she shown as being ashamed of being a homemaker or thinking her independence and individuality is dependent on her earning her own money.

Here this woman is sometimes a wannabe dancer, then she’s a masterchef later becomes a reality show dancing star. It’s like she’s all over the place. Her first husband cheats on her, she makes the second one miserable by not committing to him fully and has other random men just pop up and fall in love with her out of nowhere who also disappear from the show overnight.

Tulsi never had to be shown as someone unsure of her identity and worse ashamed of her role as a homemaker to become iconic. Even when we had Anupam and that character played by Parmeet Sethi pop up, they didn’t just fall in love with Tulsi randomly to show her as some kind of incredible woman. She didn’t need other characters validating her to prop her up be it as a desirable woman or a righteous person.

From the little glimpses of Anupama that appear on feeds on Instagram or Twitter, you either believe she’s a goddess who does no wrong or you’re evil. There’s just no in-between. And anyone against her has to also be loud, OTT and just behave as monstrously as possible. Just like Anupama herself.

Payal and Tulsi sold their tensed relationship even as Samdhaans without a single one of them ever having to raise their voice. The tension was palpable and so intense, yet pulled off with such class and subtlety.

Even Kyunki’s villains are more classy and subtle than the actual heroine of Anupama!
