Raj Kundra!!! OMG

I don’t know how big the Kundra Shetty families are but I do know that at least half the Viranis we know have a police record and cases registered against them for sure. Only Raj and Shilpa have cases in this particular instance. So Viranis are clearly leading here. There’s literally been a son in this family who was a drug lord/smuggler (Ansh), a SIL who was the partner of the said son, Shobha’s second husband (can’t remember his name), 2 con women who were their Bahu (Mohini and Tripti), Tulsi herself has murder cases against her and Nandini also served jail time for murder. In this generation, Angad got a rapsheet in a fake hit and run case already and has continued the proud legacy and tradition.

Bhai if they weren’t shown as rich and the main characters, people would be literally scared of the very idea of associating with this family let alone marry into it

TBH, I am just not excited for SPA now because all the shows are so blah. I am skimming through Kyunki partly because of nostalgia and partly because Tulsi is not a screeching, screaming banshee of a heroine. Also, the fake case plot piqued my interest given that it echoes the current situation so much and I really wanted to see how it plays out in a show where the main protagonist is played by the woman who was literally the minister of women and child development just in the previous term. So far the execution is a dud though the intention is obviously well meant.

I can’t believe I’m saying this but I much rather preferred tracks dedicated to Tulsi trying to knock some sense into her kids from Gautam to Shobha to even Ansh in the previous season of Kyunki over this season where she’s basically been shown as a doormat so far. What makes this worse is that the villain is the daughter and the premise is so lame, not to mention that the actress doesn’t sell the “evilness” despite trying her best.

Anyway, these episodes that are best viewed in FF mode leave much to be desired but today a line by Mihir caught my attention and unintentionally made me laugh out loud because I found it absolutely hysterical and hilarious.

So, Mihir’s core issue perhaps is summed up by the fact that he is furious with Tulsi for not only being honest in the court leading to his spoiled Papa ki Pari’s disgrace but also that her statement lead to denting his “Parivaar ki izzat”.

Now, I understand that this is no laughing matter; as Indians we take a lot of pride and responsibility in maintaining the status of our families in every possible way and definitely have a very conservative and socially conscious mindset even now in lots of ways. For a lot of people, Ghar and Parivaar ki izzat is still a big deal as it should be; after all that’s our culture, legacy and what makes us who we are as a people, a society….

But… when it comes to the Viranis, Mihir seems to be under the misapprehension that Tulsi damaged his “parivaar ki izzat” because that’s water under the bridge.

The very viral and hilarious clip of Tripti from the previous season recounting how everyone in this family has been involved in multiple relationships makes the point. No Indian family that has this sort of claim to fame can claim that they are an “izzatdaar parivaar” as it is, what makes matters worse is that brothers literally have married the same woman in this family. This family has been dragged into court numerous times for multiple cases and Tulsi has served time in jail for actually killing her own son! Mihir, the paragon of virtue and assholery, seems to forget that he has actually fathered a son out of wedlock! Then went on to hide that son and his existence from everyone until that son literally exposed him himself! That’s worse than Tulsi simply being honest in court and saving innocent people from being unfairly sentenced to prison! He literally is the last person from this family who can claim affront regarding Parivaar ki izzat considering that when Karan’s sheer existence was revealed, it wouldn’t have led to his family being given some plaque of honour as it is by the society. It’s honestly a miracle that he managed to find people willing to marry his daughters to begin with even after that! So he better shut up about the so called Parivaar ki izzat supposedly dented by Tulsi.

In the real world, Tulsi or any woman would throw these facts at the face of that manchild rather than try and ask for his forgiveness.

Honestly he should just admit that he wanted her to blindly believe their daughter because that’s what he’s doing and it’s hurt his ego that she dares to be the mother who would call out her own kid in public for their wrongdoing more than anything else. Because how dare she not show some regard for his little princess after all, he is the one who has spoiled her and Tulsi is calling out his parenting in public by calling a spade a spade and that’s hurt his butt and fragile ego.

This is more about personal ego and wanting to prove himself as a better parent for once rather than Parivaar ki izzat or even the truth about Pari or worse, genuinely believing that Pari was a victim whose own mother didn’t stand by her.

I truly hope Mihir gets a taste of his medicine and perhaps a Bahu who does to him what Pari did to her inlaws just so he knows how it feels to be on the other side of the fence and wish that the other team also has a Tulsi of their own to save his behind!

This season is meant to be limited but dear god, does it really feel like it’s stretching forever because it’s unbearable. Mihir needs a swift kick up his arse, and unfortunately everyone is buttering him up. I miss the previous season where Tulsi had people in her corner who would openly fight for her when needed, even with Mihir; but this time around those very characters have disappeared. Karan came back from the US and pulled a Houdini again with Nandini and their kids as they’re MIA again, we never even got to see their kids enjoying their first Navratri at home (really making the whole thing about kids will not know Indian culture worry of Nandini’s go down the drain), Gautam, Saahil, Damini, Ganga are not even mentioned much. Hemant is back but we don’t know where’s Pooja. Kiran, Sejal, Suhasi, Chirag, Prajakta and their kids etc are all but forgotten. Heck we don’t even know where’s Mohini, Tripti, Tanya, Mandira, Payal for that matter.

The new generation couple has no spark and the leading man of the older generation really makes you wish someone would burst a couple of crackers under his arse because man really gets on your nerve to the point that you wish he hadn’t returned from the dead at all in the previous season to begin with.

Bet those who weeped buckets for this guy back then - both times - when he was presumed dead and then returned, aren’t so thrilled about him now either!

I love how leads have selective memory when it comes to their own baggage. Even today, he has no respect for his marriage, falling into Noyna's arms so easily. Izzat, my foot. Talk about hypocrisy. A man who had no compunctions about cheating on his wife should be the last person to talk about ghar ki izzat. What if Tulsi did what this guy does? That’s the problem, na? They go on and on about bahu ka farz and zimmedari, but turn a blind eye to everything the beta does.

After Angad, Pari is in line to continue the family tradition and end up in jail only if Ajay's lawyer can play his cards well. In this way justice will prevail and viewers will be spared of her torture.

However, Tulsi at the moment is hurt by her daughter n husband's behaviour, so she is thinking everything with her heart. Ab jab mihir ghar aa hi gaya hai to he will get softned by time, if he genuinely cared Tulsi ever, else he will move on with Noina as always for temporary love affair😂 wo Tulsi k saath saath ek naya affair chahta hai, Tulsi k bina bhi wo khush nhi reh pata, he wants Tulsi as his wife main wali, jaise patrani, fir dusri ranis bhi.

Tulsi like woman who found her happiness in fulfuliing her family n husband's wishes, it's difficult for her to take a step which breaks her bond, love with her family. She being a positive woman thinks she knew her husband very well and she will succeed to make him understand things and get him back. She has put only one thing and limited herself to 'bacche n pati' as her world, probably she will now think of her own existence n her as a person what she wants, she might think on those lines, since Mihir has verbally said this rishta is already broken, she might really think of being the boss of the company to secure herself until she live, she cannot believe her upbringing, her love, her husband n kids like pari anymore. But suddenly she might think of Angad n the other guys, it is difficult for her to choose between kids, but Mihir agar Noina k saath rehna chahta hai he should do it, parivaar ki izzat does not suit him well anyways.

Noina, Shuchu n Mithali me har koi blindly selfish hai, matlab mansik rog wale log hai.. If someone does not love you, you cannot be snatching them, kyunki har meethi baat k peeche chupi hui baat bhi samne wale insan ko bahot zald Kadwi lag sakti hai. Fir inka mental trauma ka koi hadh nhi hota...

He is definitely a hypocrite. He doesn't remember who"s Karan"s biological mother and the things he has done in the past. When Mandira entered his life he had lost his memory so that was understood. But, when Karan came into his life he was in his full senses. How can he forget that incident. And, instead of being grateful to Tulsi he's showing attitude. If she wanted she could have disowned both Mihir and Karan.

I wish whenever daayan gets married to her vulture Ran she should face domestic violence. Noyona should refuse to help her and even Tulsi should rebuke her not trust her. Infact she shouldn't bother about her at all. She should face the consequences of faking domestic violence against Ajay.

It’s not just selective amnesia that’s annoying, it’s also somehow the way that Amar plays Mihir that is also just grating. Ronit’s Mihir was more sober, grounded, mature and he too had been shown as having differences with Tulsi, be it when she was against Ansh or when she had to euthanise Savita. You could understand his anger, his POV and his frustration at the situation and at Tulsi, but there was a very poised tone with which he expressed himself. He didn’t just look his age, but acted like it too.

Here they’ve made Amar obviously look younger than Smriti, they’ve even addressed the issue in the very first few episodes; but the problem arises from the fact that he also acts like he lacks maturity mentally and emotionally.

Had they been newlyweds and Mihir taken this stand against Tulsi for Pari who could’ve been his sister or even a daughter; his stance would’ve made sense. A sister or a daughter would’ve been obviously more closer to him and demanded more of his loyalty than his new wife. He could’ve presumed Tulsi is lying out of spite or frustration with his sister or a stepdaughter because they don’t get along; but what are his grounds here? He has been married to this woman per this show for nearly 4 decades and knows she’s not one to jump to conclusions without reason. He also knows she’s proven right more times than he would like. More importantly, these children are related to Tulsi by blood, being her sister’s offsprings and she’s the one who is their blood relative in this instance. If she’s not buying Pari’s BS then she has to have a reason and concrete belief to do what she did. Fine, they have adopted these kids and raised them - Mihir provided for them and all, but was he really the one raising them or Tulsi? Did he invest his time, energy and effort into being there for them physically as much as she did? We all know the answer to that.

The issue isn’t even that he’s mad at her or that they’re on the opposite ends of this conversation, that’s fine. The issue is that Mihir is shown more invested in this one particular bad apple than all his other kids combined, we don’t even understand why that is, and then he’s acting berserk and having heart to heart about his issues with his wife with an outsider rather than a family member or a professional therapist or counsellor. Even if it had to be a friend, why is it a friend he hadn’t seen in decades and not someone who has been with him for ages? Also the optics of that friend being a single woman also come across as all sorts of wrong even when you eliminate the fact that she has feelings for him bordering on obsession.

This is drama for the sake of drama and not an organic thing that has been a product of circumstances more than anything else which is where it loses appeal.
