Thank you for sharing your perspective.
We truly value your professional expertise in the CRE field, and we can understand why you feel strongly about how the industry is represented.
At the same time, Iād like to clarify the intention behind this contest. It was never meant to be an academic or professional showcase of the real estate sector, nor to define or stereotype the industry. The idea was simply to bring this forum to prominence and engage forum members in a lighthearted, creative activity, such as something fun and interactive that would bring people together. The caption game is just a way to encourage participation and forum members' bonding, not a representation of the CRE industry in any official capacity.
We absolutely respect the efforts of those working in real estate to break stereotypes, and we will keep your feedback in mind for future activities
. At the same time, this forum also welcomes non-professional, casual interactions that help members express themselves beyond technical discussions.
Your suggestions about tycoon-style games, architecture themes, or design-based contests are excellent, and weād love to explore them in the future. This current activity, however, is meant to be fun and inclusive for everyone, regardless of their professional background.
I hope this clears up the purpose of the contest. Thank you again for your feedbackāit helps us shape better activities while also keeping the space enjoyable for all.
BTW, my faculty is humanities. While my academic background is in the humanities, I am also a businesswoman who owns and manages my company. That means I understand both the value of creativity and the practical side of running an organisation. The contest was designed with that balance in mindāencouraging participation, recognising talent, and keeping the forum vibrant.
Thanks once again for sharing your valuable views on this subject. .
I got busy yesterday so I didn't get a chance to respond, but fine. You want to use stereotypical pics for the contest and not do a real estate type of contest, that's your choice. I made my thoughts on that known.
Now I have a different question. Based on how I understood the rules, I can submit a maximum of 5 captions. Whether I pick one picture or take 5 of the pictures that's my choice. But can you explain how people will be judged fairly? I mean let's suppose 5 people participate. And 1 person submits 1 caption on pic C while the other 24 captions are all on pic G, then how will you fairly ask people to vote or grade the various captions? Wouldn't it be an easy win for the 1 caption on pic C?
My suggestion - limit everyone to 1 caption per pic. And if people don't submit captions for every pic then disqualify their entries.
