Jumping in between without watching today's episode...
I agree with Shazia that its primarily a mother daughter story... but I also agree that Vik has an important role to play.
My understanding on why this show works is how the story is weaved and majority credit to Ayesha and Mona...
So far in all shows we have only seen dark MILs or stepmoms... this is probably the first time a bio mom is so dark and that too FLs mother. Whereas FLs mother is supposed to be a very meek sacrificing kind of person who asks the FL to adjust.
Mannat too is different... she has some grey shades and she owns up to them... It has also to do with the fact that you cant be saintly in trying to tackle someone like ARS.
Mona and Ayesha have a brilliant chemistry that works... their scenes are the pull. Its a treat to watch them. They elevate each other.
Adnan is fabulous and his chemistry with Ayesha is crackling. But because he has been established as BDB, he arrives only after Mannat has suffered to a certain degree (based on TRP and writers wishes). He has the final word in any track and once he is convinced the issue is resolved... thus to drag it for as long as they can... Vikrant stays dumb/unawares/nonchalant/careless or any of the similar words.
His earlier immediate protective stance on Mannat was required for him to become BDB and to set the love story angle... now they can take him away for as long as they want.
Even though these 3 are the major characters in the story... its Aish Mannat who are the drivers and Vikrant who is the final solution.
Any episode where Mannat wins against Aish has got them higher TRPs so far...
And Aish is the biggest ManVik shipper š¤£... anything she does only ends up bringing these 2 closer.
I am excited for the new entry especially after the promo.
