Tbh, in this whole mess of a show where nothing makes sense anymore the only realistic and relatable thing they're showing currently is Maira replacing G with Ab completely in her heart. Unfortunately, this is exactly what happens in reality. Adopted children even when they've great families always pine and yearn for their biological parents. They'd go to great lengths to find them even if they'd been abandoned at birth and they'd readily grab at any chance to reconnect with their birth parents . One girl in our neighborhood was adopted and she literally ran away from her house when she found out who her birth mother was , just to spend some time with her , though her adoptive family loved her just like their own. She's not wrong either. This is a natural call in our blood.

Even Karna of Mahabharat always earned for his birth parents and biological family though he was absolutely adored by his adoptive parents and siblings. He said so to both Kunti and Krishna.

Ye tadap har bachhe mein hota hai, aur hona bhi chahiye.

And it's not like it's an uncommon theme on TV either. In KRPKAB, Jatin was the adoptive father of Soha, Dev and Sonakshi's daughter and they're absolutely thick like thieves but the moment Dev entered into the picture and Soha found out he's her bio father , Dev became her world . Her attachment to Jatin totally fizzled out and she was still fond of him, but not asking to see him or wanting to spend time with him.

Here G is in picture for last 4 years. Jatin was there before Soha came to Earth. He literally took Sonakshi to the hospital during labor pain and held Soha for the first time even before her mother. He was there at every stage of her growing up.

I feel if Maira finds out that G2 is the reason her parents separated ( in her mind that's how things will look ,she's too young to understand the intricacies of the relationships and all their nuances. ) she'll never forgive G2 and start hating her.

Every child at the end of the day wants to be with their parents. Bashing a child for such a natural and intrinsic desire is not right I feel.

Same with Soha. At first she was shocked and even hated Dev because she heard Dev had hurt her mom but within a small duration of time she melted like butter and like I said, her papa became her world.

For small children , the initial shock is too much but it's not unrealistic that once they adjust to that shock and process it and get to know their birth parent a bit, they'd be naturally drawn to them and prefer them over adoptive figures . It's inevitable.

That's why court of law also always gives preference towards birth parents over adoptive ones unless both of them are mia or absolutely unfit for child bringing.

Abhira is her world now and she'll always be.

Armaan should give G her own child . Maybe then she'll stop being possessive over Maira and the emptiness of her heart will be fulfilled.

Also, she deserves children of her own , don't she. Plus the show needs atleast female children for gen leap.

Glad to see he's refraining from touching Abhira. They're now co parents , not spouses. Their relationship should be close yet not intimate. Respectful and caring but not lusty.

Bold- you should have watched Gen3, like you said even Abhir was always drawn to his father & as much as he craved for him, but Abhir chose his stepdad over his father.... Eventhough they connected really well

In Silsila too , Mouli and Kunal's daughter Mishti was always more attached to her new fiance and later new husband , Mishti's "Popsy" over her birth father Kunal. But that could possibly also be because she once overheard her parents talking and Mouli accusing Kunal that he wanted Mishti to be dead or to not exist at all, even before her birth. Such a statement is likely to cut a child's psyche deep such that she may never recover.

But in YHM, after leap when Ishita came back , their daughter Pihu ( surrogated, birthed and brought up by Shagun ,the PL ) eventually became more closer to Ishita , her bio mom.

So you see , there are different circumstances and different instances. One can not call a certain decision taken by a child as gold standard and force it on another child or call the child selfish when she naturally gravitated towards her own mother , which is absolutely a natural way of things.

Abhira is deeply attached to Maira , Maira may not have ever felt such affection and tenderness from G2. Children act on instinct and their instinct is often correct in matters of heart .

I'm not saying Abhir was a monster for not chosing his own father . So Maira should be given the same courtesy and respect. Every child deserves that.

Even Krishna ji left Vrindavan and never went back to his adoptive parents. He spent his entire life with his actual parents, although he always held Nanda and Yashoda in great esteem and fondness. He knew he belonged to his actual family , his bloodline of Yadavs. That's his karma bhumi. His people. Of course , he'd many reasons to leave Vrindavan for good. But his choice was clear.
