Abhira : The self-respect queen
This move exposes their hypocrisy, double standards and an inconvenient truth: You can’t trust the U.S. to be a true partner, when push comes to shove, they punish countries whom they called as allies rather than engage in negotiation. True partners seek mutual respect; this move screams, “You comply or pay the price.”
I am glad India has not capitulated to this type of bullying.
Trump is very vocal about not being able to run for another term, he is a self serving idiot who has fired a huge number of government officials
His all moves are in favor of China, the only nation which allied with USA against/not in favor of China was India in this region, he has moved India towards China as well
I wouldn't be surprised if he is looking for a long term plan, 4 years will go then he can enjoy fruits of his support for a super strong China
This man is gonna trigger a global economic crash or something close to it.
Because of USD being default global currency, rest of the world is paying US debt basically.
And US and Europe trade backdoors with Russia still and China continues to bypass US sanctions and buy oil from Iran.
Tarffis are taxes on US consumers.
India should stand strong. Trump’s a bully and his administration is full of anti-India xenophobes.
The duties, which are 16 percentage points higher than China, 31 points higher than most south-east Asian countries and 35 points above South Korea, have pushed US tariffs on Indian goods to levels that the investment house Nomura likened to a “trade embargo”.
India’s giant generic pharmaceuticals sector and its electronics and petroleum products are exempt from the tariffs. Aluminium, steel and copper remain at 25%, but job-heavy sectors such as textiles, jewellery, seafood and leather are squarely in the line of fire.
Exports from affected sectors could plunge 70%, from $60.2bn to $18.6bn, while overall shipments to the US could fall by 43%, said Ajay Srivastava, a former Indian trade official and founder of the Global Trade Research Initiative, a Delhi-based thinktank .

Where will the biggest impact be felt?

It's Trump, not the US. It's so funny that before the US elections, so many Indians including Modi and BJP were openly supporting Trump over Biden.

What do you mean running for another term? You cannot run for more than 2 terms as president according to US constitution.

Trump also got record share of Indian American vote. Edison, New Jersey, Counties in California and Texas with high Indian population swung heavily towards Trump.
Lol 😆 It never fails to make me laugh how Asian and Hispanic immigrants think siding with white nationalists is somehow gonna make them acceptable in the eyes of latter.
Trump ran the most xenophobic campaign and won the immigrant vote Biden swept by 28 points.
And speaking of India. BJP and the right wing were carrying Trump’s water. Prime Minister Modi shouldn't have done that rally with President Trump in 2020 and this, "Ab ki bar Trump Sarkar" was unprofessional and beneath the dignity of an Indian Prime Minister. Huge failure of Indian leadership vis-à-vis Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka as well.
