Frankly, I’m really dissatisfied with the voting process. When voters are asked to judge over 20 entries at once, it’s inevitable that they’ll forget the first ones they read. The process could have been better organized by splitting the entries into batches of 10, over a span of 5-10 days. Then, voting could focus on selecting 1 or 2 entries from each batch, with the final round determining the best from those chosen. This way, every entry would receive the spotlight and recognition it deserves. After all, every entry comes from a writer’s heart, the hardwork that goes into it and should be respected as such.

I’ve expressed my dissatisfaction, and had I known this was how it was going to be conducted, I might have thought twice before putting in the effort.

Thank you, Vera, for sharing your valuable suggestions and for expressing your opinion so sincerely. In fact, we conducted three rounds of voting. Normally, two rounds are sufficient to arrive at a clear verdict. However, seeing the amazing participation of writers in such good numbers, we felt encouraged to conduct an additional round in our effort to ensure a clear outcome.

While conducting a competition, we always follow the good efforts and guidelines laid down by our seniors, and we take pride in adding our own touches to make it a smooth, non-controversial, and delightful experience.

When I first glanced through the micro tales, I was so overwhelmed that, in my excitement, I went back and reread them all once again. Each and every tale is truly a gem. It will indeed be a real test for the judges to decide which one stands out among such amazing entries.

However, as we all know, in any competition, the winners emerge only after going through various stages to reach a fair conclusion. This contest commenced on July 10th, after 45 days of good efforts, we are working towards a fair and well-considered conclusion, for a viable result. In any contest, there can only be a few winners. But one thing I can assure you is this: wherever you place a true gem, it will never lose its worth — it will always shine brightly in the hearts of those who appreciate and cherish creativity. smiley27

Please remember that by placing these micro tales in the Fanfiction section, they will be beautifully showcased, highlighting the remarkable talent and creative excellence of our writers. Future generations, and the newly entered members will cherish those, and will remain as a proud testament within the palace of excellence on India Forums.

Sorry, half of that went over my head.

God, my entire dissatisfaction was based on the voting process. Honestly, I don't give a damn if my entries win or lose. I have lost plenty of times before & that hasn't affected my morale yet. Usse mujhe ratti barr faraq nahi padta. Iss baat se zaroor padta hai ki kya meri mehnat ko apni tawajjo milti hai ya nahi. Aise bheed mein rakhhe shayad nahi.

To a writer, their work is a gem, regardless of what others might think. The point isn't winning; it’s about being given a fair chance.

The number of voting rounds doesn’t matter as much as the number of entries being judged in a single session. As someone who’s often called upon to judge fan-fiction, you're probably used to reading a large number of entries in one go and still being able to remember the impactful stories. However, that’s not the case for everyone. When voting takes place for 100+ entries, breaking them into smaller batches is more likely to yield better results.

If you recall, initially, all the entries were placed together for voting. When some members expressed difficulty in reading so many entries at once, changes were made. Even then, the number of entries was still too large.

@b: I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree on this.

I'm well aware that my dissatisfaction will not change one single thing.
