Yeah I can’t stick on to one book for too long else I get bored and end up DNFing it. Except when I do read alongs and even then I find myself losing interest when I read 1-2 chapters a day. (Also end up forgetting the plot 😛)
With thrillers it’s even harder to pace yourself

Yep, but when I'm reading something that I'm really hooked to. I never want it to end and start feeling miserable when I'm on the last few chapters. I felt that way with Pen Pal and Do Not Disturb. I experienced withdrawal symptoms for about a week. It's hard to get into another book.
Ok I finished it.
Not saying anything more until you’re all done.
But now I want to read a romcom or a feelgood romance.

Itna bura tha kya??
Rating to de do at least!
And maybe a short review with minimum spoilers
Na it wasn’t bad at all. I just felt there was a LOT of time spent in the build up and not enough on the resolution so the ending felt rushed and left me with a lot of questions. I was actually confused on how to rate this because of that but finally gave it 3.5.Originally posted by: heavenlybliss

There were a couple of twists I just did not see coming (one I sorta guessed but still they were well done). Otherwise my comment on reading a romance was more for myself cos I’ve been reading so many thrillers in a row (some quite gruesome) that I need a palate cleanser And this one was kinda heart breaking and left me with a queasy feeling because of the child death and all ..(not really a spoiler because it says that literally on page 1 😅)

And I'm in a thriller mood these days
Do you have any more recommendations that are easy reads like Freida? Apart from the ones you already suggested.
My TBR keeps expanding.
The Arrangement and The Perfect Marriage I will read soon!
I mean I can read thrillers any time but I need a palate cleanser just cause the 4MK series was really intense and then I dived into this one right after that and before that I read The devotion of suspect X. So too many thrillers in a row.Originally posted by: heavenlybliss

Idk - have you read Ask for Andrea? There’s one by A.R. Torre - I think it’s called The last party or something. Kill for me, kill for you was good. The only one left by Riley Sagar. What lies between us by John Marrs (this one made me really uncomfortable), None of this is true and Then she was gone by Lisa Jewell.
Just some off the top of my head…

How did you like Devotion of Suspect X? That one was intense. I remember staying awake just to finish it.
I didn't like And then she was gone - I found the whole concept and twist dumb. I guessed it from the beginning. So after that I never felt like going back to this writer's work.
I will check out AR Torre. I haven't read any of her thrillers but I read a short story by her in an anthology, it was romance, and I liked her writing style. I'm planning to read The Ghostwriter by her.
I liked Devotion of suspect X though the translation could have been better. I liked None of this is true better than And then she was gone. Really unpopular opinion - did not like Pen Pal as much as it’s hyped. I found the end reveal to be a real cop-out. I don’t enjoy thrillers like that - when a paranormal element creeps in. It seems too easy, Ask for Andrea and The House across the lake are other examples. I was so underwhelmed.Originally posted by: heavenlybliss
