SC orders removal of all stray dogs from Delhi-NCR streets within 8 weeks

The court criticised the practice under the Animal Birth Control Rules that mandates the release of sterilised dogs back into the same locality.

…Whether sterilised or not sterilised, the society must feel free and safe. You should not have any stray dogs roaming around,” the bench said.

It is a much-needed decision/ order. Stray dogs are a menace to society.

In many cities, there are reports that a few stray dogs, attached to small kids and wounded and in some cases, even killed them. To protect humans from animals, it is necessary to keep those in a secluded place.

Here are the top statements made by the Supreme Court while pronouncing the judgement:

  1. We need to pick up round up with whatever means to ensure dog free locality and that's how children and aged will feel safe.
  2. Have you seen the classic 'Good, Bad and the Ugly' - when you want to shoot, shoot, don't talk. It's not the time to talk but act. All these so-called animal lovers, will they be able to bring back those children who have given their lives?
  3. Civic authorities in the Delhi NCR region have been directed to make dog shelters and report about creation of infrastructure within eight weeks. It must have sufficient personnel for sterilised, dogs who would be detained there and not released in public places. It will be monitored by CCTV to monitor that no dogs are taken out.
  4. Infants and young children, not at any cost, should fall prey to rabies. The action should inspire confidence that they can move freely without fear of being bitten by stray dogs. No sentiments should be involved.
  5. Create a helpline within 1 week so that all cases of dog bites and rabies are reported. Action should be taken within 4 hours to pick up the dog after the complaint is received, and any action of individual or organisation coming in the way will be taken with stern action. The said dog will be sterilised and shall not be released.

Good it was needed.

All those people who are protesting are those who live comfortably in their homes and have never seen how Rabies affect or haven't have the fear of walking put at night due to them.

All the actors who are tweeting and protesting should contribute money for building a huge dog shelter home. The people protesting should have compassion towards all animals and not only a dog.

There are so many underprivileged children and mal nourished children in our country, they should focus on them also.

---

There are so many dogs n our society and outside also.

And new ones keep coming inside. Suddenly they get aggressive when they see another pet dog and come running.

It's so scary.

Im not sure if it will be implemented but atleast one judgement came like this.

There r no strays n Singapore and Dubai etc on the road.
