Just wantn to offer a different perspective about all this whitewashing.
Initially when Ru showed her real feelings to audience (though always with her own version of ddp) and no one in the family ever blamed her, it was called ww but we never bought it. It made audience more irritated with her, not less. I started feeling empathy for her when she was incorrectly blamed for Daksh's accident, had her kid stolen and no one showed her any sympathy - but till the poddar family held her as some blameless, innocent soul, we all hated her.
The show has never hidden or sugar coated Armaan's doings - he was shown bribing, stealing bsp and later running away with Pookie ( theh makers could have actually hidden the latter behind some misunderstanding but they didn't). Even now, everyone in the family is blaming Geetu (who is relatively blameless, even if a little insecure) and not saying anything to Armaan. All this is making us, the audience, hate Armaan more.
Maybe that's the planned strategy - they actually want everyone to hate Armaan, just like they wanted everyone to hate Ruhi earlier.
