It is a great team effort from Indian batters, and an excellent job done by Jaiswal. He stood there like a wall till almost the innings' end.

Now, everything depends on our bowlers. Let us hope for the best. The result will be there, but for whose favour...that we have to see.

India will really believe that they can square the series now. The pitch flattened out slightly, the English bowlers were wayward, and later jaded, as the Indian batters made merry. Akash Deep was dropped early in the day by Crawley, and went on to score his maiden fifty in Tests, scoring some cracking drives along the way. Jaiswal was a bit flashy in the beginning, but grew into the game to score his sixth Test hundred and his fourth against England. Gill and Karun Nair were out early, but Ravindra Jadeja continued to enjoy his time with the bat as he registered another fifty. Washington Sundar went into white-ball mode as he got a 53 off just 46 balls. He farmed the strike cleverly and unleashed an arsenal of destructive shots to take India’s lead past 350 and beyond.

Josh Tongue and Gus Atkinson really gave their heart out for the team, with Jamie Overton also delivering a solid, short burst in the third session. That left England needing 374 for victory.

STAT: The two fullest balls from Siraj this Test has both fetched him wickets - Jacob Bethell LBW in the first innings and Zak Crawley bowled in the second.
