You mean in the novel the ML was shown less but in the show Kumkumapoovu he had more screen space?

novel came before kukumapoovu. In novel I think aleena’s mon was a teacher but I think in the show she works ina bank not sure. Kumkumapoovu copied the premise like name of the mom and some stuff I haven’t really watched it just saw glimpse. But they have made changes in the show as well like the character of grandfather wasn’t there I don’t think it was mentioned who brought her to her moms house or she lands up coincidently plus the ML character is shown less compared to show. So small difference. Even the writers other show on Mazhavil manorama called bhramanam they had made slight changes but more or less same. I hope they don’t change too much

Yes.they make changes in the show.I read that they changed the story of premapooja on surya.i also read that in the manorama channel there was a show called ennum sammadam which also got deviated from the real plot of the novel.

The other two shows of the novelist which came on mazhavil manorama was almost the same. Even I had forgotten some parts of it but after reading the comments on yt I am remembering the story.

Now that you have said that, i think it was one of the earliest Malayalm novels I read as well. I was in school when it came out 😂

I also remember only the gist, which makes watching the serial more interesting. That way will always be some surprise element even if they are following the novel word to word.

Joycee sir said in some interview that the basic storyline will remain more or less the same. I liked the changes they made so far.

Dilsha has already mentioned those. Like her grandfather being there. Also in the novel Aleena reaches her mother’s house directly where as in the serial she was taken to Manu’s house. It was probably to establish the characters there and drag out the first mother-daughter meeting. Some simple touches like that.

Also they probably changed Vaijayanthi’s profession to separate her from the kumkumapoovu professor.
