True to traditions, the third innings provides a big score at the Oval. The Indian openers were streaky last evening, tormented by the nip backers and outswingers of Josh Tongue. The former succumbed and Sai Sudharsan was out fairly early as well heading into the close of play. India got an unexpected bonus today as Akash Deep secured his first fifty after Crawley dropped him early in the day. Shubman Gill fell to the nip backer, Karun Nair was surprised by extra bounce and Dhruv Jurel was trapped by the outswinger as England found a few moments of joy. Yashasvi Jaiswal was India’s star batter though, as he came into his own after a sketchy start to notch up his 6th Test hundred - his 4th against England. Ravi Jadeja picked up another fifty, and then Washington Sundar provided some fireworks in a bloating last wicket partnership, ending with 53 as India set a target of 374.

We missed 400 by 4 runs.

But still we scored fine, specially the way we started badly.

Jaiswal great one, but I hope you don't vecome another Rohit Sharma who can't score without getting their catches dropped atleast twice, before they can score well.

Dhruv would have been great if you sticked bit more, abhi ke liye plz acchi wicket keeping karlena.

Washington , great due to his quick fire we went close to 400. Now we need great bowling too .

Wow. What an extraordinary session, what an extraordinary day for India. It began with Akash Deep's heroic half-century as a nightwatcher, continued through Yashasvi Jaiswal's fourth century against his favourite opponents, and it concluded with those now-familiar foes, Jadeja and Washington Sundar, piling in with a pair of half-centuries to drag the target to a very imposing 373. Sundar's late onslaught was simply magnificent. England, a bowler down with Woakes injured, stuck to their task, but it's over to their batters now. Crawley and Duckett have a very interesting hour and a bit coming up... I don't think there's any doubt about how they take it on, but how successful will they be?
