even if

they have birth from two ladies

then also

they could be born within two and half years

utmost

as they were married at same time

i believe

all were teenagers

Six seasons in a year...?

So far I have heard of 2, 3, even 4 seasons in a year...? But six? Could you tell me what the seasons are?

Usually we refer to 2 seasons - summer and winter or if we add spring and/or monsoon, it amounts to 4. How does it become 6?

As for Sita's sisters, I am guessing again...

I am assuming Sita is quite a bit older than Urmila/Mandvi or about the same age since she was found as a child. Chances are that Mandvi was a bit younger or maybe not - nothing is mentioned so it's all guesswork here...

Valmiki Ramayana mentions a maiden was discovered by Janaka in the fields and sort of hints she was fully grown - no idea what they mean... Maybe 10's or teens or a child who is of marriageable age...

Shrutakirti must be a few years younger at least.

Also, there's a theory that men's age were counted from their sacred thread investiture or completion of studies and women's age from when they are ready for family life. It could be possible since everyone were long lived back then.

I should maybe reread once again to see if I can find anything...

On the occasion of sisters'day

a quote dedicated to the bond of the eternal sisters

Their bond is older than time, their grace carved into legend — the Sisters of Videh walk like queens, speak like sages, and love like warriors.

the six seasons in a year, which is a concept from Indian traditional calendars, especially in Sanskrit literature and Ayurveda. Unlike the Western system of four seasons, Indian tradition divides the year into six distinct seasons, each lasting about two months.

Here they are:

1. Vasanta Ritu (Spring)

🌸 Mid-March to Mid-May

Characteristics: Pleasant weather, blooming flowers, new beginnings.

2. Grishma Ritu (Summer)

🔥 Mid-May to Mid-July

Characteristics: Hot, dry, intense sun; water scarcity in some areas.

3. Varsha Ritu (Monsoon/Rainy)

🌧️ Mid-July to Mid-September

Characteristics: Heavy rains, high humidity, lush greenery.

4. Sharad Ritu (Autumn)

🍂 Mid-September to Mid-November

Characteristics: Clear skies, mild weather, post-monsoon freshness.

5. Hemanta Ritu (Pre-winter)

❄️ Mid-November to Mid-January

Characteristics: Cool and dry; transition into winter.

6. Shishira Ritu (Winter)

🧊 Mid-January to Mid-March

Characteristics: Coldest period of the year, fog in many regions.

These seasons are closely linked to agriculture, festivals, and Ayurvedic practices in India.
