I’ve seen something very similar happen in another Ekta show. The ML and FL confess their feelings and then the FL spots the ML’s ex fiancee.. who was also his mother’s chosen one.. with her boyfriend, both were scheming to take over ML's business & destroy him.. She informs both ML and his mother but the mother accuses her instead, of several things and the ML stays silent, says he too doesn't believe her. He even pretends to go ahead with marrying the ex.

But then, on the mandap, he exposes the ex and her bf in front of everyone with a well made plan, confesses his love for the FL publicly, stops her from leaving the house, and they end up consummating that night, so..
