Rishabh School of OTT hereby declares that Bhagyashree Iyer has been officially demoted. Just when we thought she was taking one step forward, she spun around dramatically and said, āNah, I miss my mopey self.ā Only reason she wasnt dismissed was because of how she dropped that pot on chadda's foot.
This is the same woman who had no problem leaving her loving parents for a guy, nor marrying an actual criminal Vikram within few mins of meeting him, but when it comes to trusting the one man who repeatedly drags her out of messes she has created? thats a big no. Meanwhile, Rishabh is out there working overtime, physically and mentally, trying to raise his bank balance from ā¹1700 and worrying about Appas health. Clearly, Bhagya has taken after Appa. Thankfully, Amma remains in team Rishabh. Love her for that.
Now, to the episode. It was okay-ish. Not as crisp as the last one, with a few scenes that felt disjointed and kind of pointless. The way the previous episode ended, with Rishabhās many expressions while bhabhi was faking her illness , I honesty thought heād stay back or do something to force bhabhi to go with them. But no. giving a TED talk on panakkam, on how it should be drunk in a win-glass was more important, just so Appa could once again confirm: Rishabh is not SIL materialš.
Letās talk more about Rishabh our mystery man. A man who wonāt talk about his parents but is ok leaving his passport and bank passbook in an unlocked drawer?! š± Honestly, I was shocked he even had a passport (it does make the ship story slightly more believable).
Add to that the whole āKumarā mystery, is he actually South Indian pretending to be Punjabi just to impress Appa? Would explain the flawless South Indian breakfast. That whole scene was pointless anyway, since bhabhi didnāt even use it to stir the pot. A genuine question do you have to renew your passport every time you change address?
Moving to appa, why was he so stressed about society meetings? It almost felt like he wanted Rishabh and Bhagya to be a fake couple. This is exactly what's wrong with our society, trusting outsiders over your own kids. As a father, at the very least, he couldāve backed his daughter at the society meeting but schooled her later. But nope, silent spectator to her humiliation and character assassination.
The LGBT gang with Rishabh was a welcome light moment, thought that was also not needed.
Now that society meeting, why were Rishabh and Bhagya given special seating? Was this a symbolic ālet's deck the goat before the sacrificeā setup? While it was good to see LGBT standing up for them, the whole sequence felt a bit forced. I get that the makers wanted to highlight how society treats single women, but why make the scene so serious. Also what kind of society does Bhagya live in, where rogues have been elected to manage it.
Overall, an average episode with a few nice moments between the leads, first ātrip and fallā moment and the moti wala moment.
