One thing common amounts makers and writers of all shows: they get very defensive. They only want bouquets. We never tell them to bring rotten twists, then why do they get so touchy about the brickbats/criticism?
Crap itv dramas are going to exist as long as the makers, producers run after trp. Offline audience gives them trp so they also need to grow up & stop viewing shit. Once they protest, the makers will suffer & they will then think thrice before making shitty content.
Also indian dramas should start exploring finite series.
I dont like saying this but this is the reason why Pak dramas alway fare better than ours.
Even their toxic dramas wont make u go crazy (few dramas obviously are there which are extremely misogynist but still gets balanced out by the other good dramas) bcz there is certain subtlety, realism attached & overall portrayal is not over the top so viewers are able to relate better. Our indian dramas back in 90s & 80s exactly used to be like this.
Post EK entry everything went for downfall. EK no doubt has given good family dramas & well known on screen memorable couples & made their careers but at the cost of brainwashing the audience in such a way that even 2025 we are getting to see the same shitty melodrama. Itna melodrama, itna trp ka chakkar hai that makers are scared to take the other route fearing financial loss
