The female partners get adjusted to male partners and maintain the marriage with values and uprprings given to them. I also do not find it practical for the partners to be in love in AM search cuz after rishta is finalized families head for marriage. But love can happen after staying in the marriage for long. Shree's friend also represent Asian Parents' mindset . Despite being a friend of Shree, she gave a ridiculous advice to her. Be it either in love marriage or arrange marriage partners do comprise with certain things as coupls are not naturally 100% compatible. But telling a lie to get consent from the prospective partner in AM or any marriage is a big no cuz when the base is set from lies it will crumble one day. Shree is working in a big company as a head, so she will need to find a partner who accepts her position as well as she is gonna continue her carreer. If she wants to leave the job that's a different story but Shree isn't that type of girl. So it is a veey important aspect to look in a partner.

Definitely parents mindset. There is also the absurd notion that lies are acceptable as long you can get the person to marry your or fall in love with you. I don't know how many moves I have watched on those lines and I always wanted to throw something at the TV. People don't realize how problematic lying can be as a foundation to any relationship. Once trust is broken, it can be hard to rebuild. The problem is that mindset would worked in previous decades when marriage was essentially a jail sentence -- once you are in, you cannot leave. Now, people don't have that kind of mindset and will leave if they find it unbearable. Therefore, lies in AM search can totally be dynamite.

That said, it is true that many guys have very big ego. They have a problem with girls wanting good earners (financial stability) and they have a problem if girls are doing well in their career. So then instead of a partner, they see her either as gold digger or competitor. Also, many guys these days seem very insecure. They don't know how to feel confident in themselves and so career becomes a sore point. So it feels like only average girls with average careers get married easily within the current AM scenario.
