How I see is Mannat has too much on her plate to focus on her unrequited feelings which she has not admitted even to herself. The only time she can't get hold of her emotions is when Vikrant gets close to her and she looses herself. That is why she is being shown to keep her distance. Not letting him speak, not staying even when he gets close, finding excuses to leave the room. Because she knows if he gets close, she cannot control herself and loose focus and she cannot afford that. I see her pain clearly when Neetu taunts her and shows off Malla as Vikrant's fiance but she is not letting herself get carried away, because at this point she cannot afford it.

Bold even in the BTS I could see the sadness when Neetu taunts about V on Malla's hand. And what is the point in showing her sadness if 2 adults are willingly getting married and the whole family hates her presence. She will only add more trouble to her already trouble laced life. She is chosing to find out what ARS knows about her mom so she can atleast save Shurti.

So so true.

Once Mannat realises Malla is her sister, there's no looking back for her towards Vikrant. Unless she is clear about Malla's feelings, which may never be clear, the mood that Malla is in, with ARS's threat and slap, she will not backtrack.

Hope Vikrant gets to know about Malla this week, don't understand why the writers are not budging on this for Vikrant.

Wasn’t expecting Mannat finding out about ARS/Sonia Khanna so soon but the show was promoted to be about Mannat and her bio mother abandoning her at birth and ARS blocking her way forward now.

ManVik story is a side plot, however beautiful. If Mannat does know ARS is her birth mother, she will also know Malla is her half sister. So as a best friend she is already backing off and keeping a distance from her friends fiancé but as her sister I think she’ll shut away any feelings for Vikrant. And Mannat is a strong willed woman who can switch off emotions (Vikrant asked her about her switch in their first conversation at the gurdwara) so I think by shutting off before she fully realises her feelings she is protecting herself from an emotional breakdown.

It’s up to Vikrant to break off from Malla after he realises she stabbed him in the back. Even if he says it was all a hoax, Malla will maintain to Mannat that she has feelings for him. That will be enough for Mannat to keep away from Vik, so @Rdigest yes FL sacrificing her love.

Vikrant will have to be patient in order to win over Mannat, but that will only happen when Mannat is convinced Malla doesn’t love him. So Malla will need to be exposed..

Like everyone I do hope the show isn’t ending soon but would prefer quality story telling over character assignations.

Beautiful write up,Shazia..you gave very authentic view of her emotional switch off..But I have been thinking why is she so cold hearted ,not showing any displeasure or emotions towards him?

Could you please explain me,the gurdwara scene,which you mentioned ?
