Well, technically what Akshara and Armaan did could be called parental abduction if their partner wished to file a case against them.

In my opinion Akshara taking away her child or Armaan taking away his child thinking about child's betterment was mostly because of circumstances, fears and bad choices. Instead of fighting custody battle to attain sole custody for child's betterment, they chose to hide about existence and well-being of the child from a parent who has been in pain of loss for years, that was a crime. A bad partner isn't always a bad parent.
