They get you stuck in this horrible limbo until they finally end smiley18 it's part of the reason why I almost always stick to completed fics now. I know exactly what I'm signing up for. One time, I was reading this love triangle for a ship and they switched the ship midway. Can you believe it 😒

Yeah, I've been seeing a lot of positive feedback for the recent one. I'd pretty much given up on the current mcu (I didn't even know about this new movie release), so it's a pleasant suprise smiley27 I'm yet to watch D&W but I know I'll enjoy it when I do. Then again, you'd have to try really hard to make a DP movie suck smiley36

I think a private forum sounds better? 🤔 I don't think there are that many fans on here tbh 👀

Aww, that knock knock one is too cute! 😂❤️ Tfs these... I'd only seen the third one before, it's got a special place in my heart smiley42

Btw, using @green for the hulk comics... I see what you did there smiley36

@Red I don't start multi-chapter fics until they're at least a few chapters in (or have a substantial word count). Completed fics are great for binging but sometimes, it's also fun to speculate while waiting for the next update smiley36 Unfortunately, this does have it's own cons smiley24 About changing ships midway... one of the fics that I was talking about (which added the MCD tag later) has also done this smiley44. Thankfully, the ships are not the main focus of this story, so it's okay. This author is trying to maintain the surprise element so the tags are added / amended after every chapter... but I'm there for the wild ride because it is a very well planned fic with excellent character and plot development.

@Purple Oh... you haven't seen the X-men movies... that's why you can say that smiley17. While those movies treated most of their other characters very well, DP was done poorly smiley11. But the DP trilogy is good by itself. I think that as long as Ryan Reynolds is in charge of the movies, they will turn out good. He has a great understanding of the character... and his love for it reflects in the movies (as does his own wacky sense of humor smiley36)

@Pink Okay... do you wanna open the forum or should I? I know 10-15 fans of the top of my head... we can tag them with a link once the forum is up. We can keep it open for joining so that other interested members can also join by themselves.

@Green Hehe... I'm glad you noticed smiley4

P.S. I've added the link to that story ("only the pure of heart") and author ("miniature_pineapples") in my page count in the Excel sheet (Team Story Seekers)

Before MCU, I was far more acquainted with the DC superheros. Of course, Spidey has always been my fav since childhood... but Batman was a really close second. The Dark Knight trilogy is still peak Batman for me and I love rewatching it from time to time. I probably own a comic or two as well...

I don't like Superman much (overpowered - makes fights uninteresting) but the rest of Justice League (OG) was smiley27. I have watched quite some movies from the DCEU too... Wonder woman first part was good... and I liked both Aquaman movies too (especially since the underwater scenes are really good when watching in 3D).. but the rest... the less said the better smiley24 I'm hoping for better movies after the reboot 🤞🏼

About X-man... I've watched all the movies but honestly... the plots are so haphazard.. they barely make sense smiley29. The timeline is completely screwed up... the only worthy thing from those movies were the characters and their interactions. I've never read any comics so won't comment on those... but I'm waiting to see if the MCU will do them better smiley23

Same! I mostly only read DC back then, and I loved Batman. I read whatever comics of his I could get my hands on. I also loved WW and JL... I used to read them and watch their animated adaptations as well as the live action ones (talking about the old ones here). I still have core memories of spinning around in my room trying to turn myself into WW just like Lynda Carter did smiley37 such good times smiley42

I also don't like Supes much, like you said he's too OP for my taste 😅 but I don't mind when he's working as a part of JL, he's an interesting addition to the team.

I don't really like any of the new DCEU movies except the first WW one... haven't watched the Aquaman movies so I can't comment. I'm also waiting for them to do better. Esp now that mcu has kinda gone to shit, it should be easy for DC to impress and attract more audiences right? Such a shame they fell so hard bcz old DC stuff used to be on another level altogether 🔥❤️ MCU would never have been able to compete with peak DC, or at least it would've had a much harder time rising this far this quick. The tables turned once... and now ig it's probably time for them to turn again 😅

I've never watched the X-Men movies and Idk if I ever will. Sometimes I feel tempted to, but then I figure I should just watch the older animated series instead. Both the og series and the later one (wolverine & the X-Men) were good. I've heard the revived series on HS is also good, so I'm probably gonna rewatch the og series sometime soon before watching the HS one.

Ri, I have a question about the Pride Prose Challenge:

“All you need to do is log 500 pages (approx 2 books) that are LGBTQAI+ themed fiction.”

So, if a fanfiction is about a particular couple who are not queer but the supporting characters have 2 or more couples who are queer, will that fall under this category?

Sure that can work. Just ensure they feature reasonably in the story and highlight their role in your review & what stood out to you about them.

You can read The Color Purple. As far as I remember, it was already on your list, which you shared with us. This book deals with the theme of lesbian romance.

Yes. I will. Although, I have been unexpectedly busy this month to write long reviews.

I received two LGBTQIA+ themed books from Amazon today. smiley41 The name of these books are Murder in Mahim and The Henna Wars. The first one, Murder in Mahim is a murder mystery where a serial killer only targets and kills gay men in Mahim and it deals with the theme of homophobia. Mahim is situated in southern part of Mumbai. A web series was made on this book and it's available on Jio Hotstar. The second one, The Henna Wars is a lesbian romance. I also want to read Too Bright to See. This one is a middle grade/children's ghost story and it's about a transgender boy. All three of these books are different from one another. Apart from these three books, Carmilla, Read Between The Lines, The Best at It and The Invisible Orientation: An Introduction to Asexuality (non-fiction) seemed interesting to me. I'm particularly interested in Carmilla because it's a gothic novel. I like gothic novels and horror novels. An interesting fact about Carmilla is that it shares similarities with Bram Stoker's popular novel, Dracula. But Carmilla was written first. Carmilla was published in 1872 and Dracula was published after 25 years of Carmilla's publication.

Btw, I've decided I'm backing out for the month of June. I don't really have an interest in queer fiction and ofc, a few other personal constraintssmiley9

I think it's a good decision. smiley20 One shouldn't force himself/herself to read something that seems uninteresting to him/her. I also don't have that much interest in queer fiction even though I decided to participate in June. I never read any queer book in my entire life.
