Aside except for interviews, no one knows the surname of candidates to tamper the score.

Could you please share with me the surveys that you were quoting

Like I said, I had seen them a few years back. Don't know if I can find them now; maybe it'll take some time.

I was talking about the interviews in govt exams--- a SC/ST candidate can be discriminated there too because of their surname. Not talking about marks tampering.

This is the biggest win for Pakistan. They have convinced the Sikhs that they care for them more than anyone else and that is after finishing off all the Sikhs from Pakistan.

That is why I always say, winning a narrative war is as important

That is the only place where they can be discriminated. But the colleges (like engineering/medical) don't have an interview round, so going by your rationale, there shouldn't be any reservation

And again, I am saying if a reserved candidate scored at par with general cut off s/he wouldn't be a reserved candidate.

This doesn't make even a bit of sense

Bold: They don't have interviews, but they do have entrance exams which are sometimes manually checked by teachers, right?

No, in govt job exams, a reserved category candidate will still remain a reserved candidate even if they score the general cutoff. Gor example, in the UPSC, if a candidate scores general cutoff in the Prelims, even then he/she will remain a reserved candidate and will pass even if s/he gets the reserved cutoff in the Mains exam.

Also, one thing is certain. Reservations are not about economic backwardness; it's about fighting the casteist mindset where Upper Caste people do not want to be around people from the lower strata or mingle with them at the same level. Therefore, simply economic reforms (like you have suggested) are not enough to fight this menace.

Are you sure an IAS SC/ST/OBC or wealthy person from these categories will mingle with me who could be economically and power wise backward than them despite being born in a so called forward category ? 🤔
