They have millions of followers and their one post and tweet can make a lot of difference but none of them bothered.

No doubt Indians have a good name abroad but soft power didn't come much into play when the global narrative was against India. Yes many protested in the respective countries they were living in and thats about it. Even most news channels sided with Pakistan even though their citizens have bad name in most countries. There was not much global voice for India. And Indians brag about it a lot that so many global companies are run by Indians. Yes its great they made it big through their hardwork but I hardly see any who actually take pride in being Indians. They mostly acquire citizenship abroad and hardly have or want anything to do with India other than having roots here. So many are running global firms but did they do anything to favour India or facilitate more Indians to study or build something more? Not blaming them because they did whats best for them and are doing good work and its worth to be inspired form them. But Indians just celebrate like anything ki yeh Indian ceo bangaye yeh vice president bann gaye and all. What we need to do is actual build, manufacture and innovate more so that we also have global brands and global voice as well.

I fully agree with your last statement. What we really need to do is build, manufacture, and innovate more so that we can also have global brands and a strong global voice. Thats how we will become a global power and reduce our dependence on other nations.

As for you saying influence of prominent NRIs and their soft power, it hasnt really contributed to india’s rise as a power. That credit goes more to india’s diplomacy on the global stage. Since india often remains neutral on major international issues, how can we expect the world to support us?? We have to rely on ourselves. This has nothing to do with the so called soft power of influential NRIs.

Their soft power works differently. Even if they havent directly created opportunities in india, its the same with other countries, most of their citizens living abroad havent done anything for their homeland either, except for some extremist groups like certain muslims who support migration for jihad purposes, which is not something to be proud of.

Prominent NRIs help in other ways, they build goodwill and a positive image of india, which benefits indians working in the business and service sectors abroad. They help create job opportunities for indians overseas. Thats why i believe everyone has a role to play and most are fulfilling it in their own way. Even in india, there are wealthy people accumulating wealth without directly helping fellow indians but can we really blame them?? NRIs are doing their part and thats fine.

I dont know if all these big shot NRIs ignore their roots but even if they do, that doesnt make them americans or europeans. Their roots are still indian and thats how india’s image is built abroad.

Now coming to why the world/global media doesnt support india, despite indians having a good reputation abroad, its because that image is limited to the business sector and how foreigners personally view us. When it comes to whether foreign governments/Global media support india or not, it entirely depends on the kind of diplomacy india practices. We have been isolated for a few reasons, first is we dont openly support any country and remain neutral on big global issues. Second is our economy is growing fast and our population is huge, with a large number of young people. So naturally, india has a lot of potential and global superpowers like the USA or china dont like that. Thats why they dont support us openly. The same applies to the global media.

Our neutral diplomatic policy has both pros and cons. On the positive side, during peaceful times, we are able to trade with many countries, even with nations like russia and that helps grow our economy. But on sensitive issues like J&K, everyone stays silent or sides with pakistan because those countries are openly allied with them. Thats the downside of neutrality.

So we have two options, either take a clearer stance and openly support countries like russia or israel (and risk losing trade deals) or remain neutral and focus on economic growth.

Did he really say that?smiley7smiley5Politics of Khangress has truly gone down the drain. How low will theh fall just to counter everything the govt does?

There is always a joke goes around that RG is secret fan of BJP. And looking at what he keeps doing I think it might be true. By doing this he is burying his party's prospects of winning any election againsmiley26 Just hope people aren't dumb enough to believe allegations he makes without any head or tail

If a son or daughter is forced to leave their ancestral house, it goes without saying they'll not have much lingering fondness for that place.

Because of the disastrous reservation system in our country , most UR category people who have any brains are working hard to get the hell out of the country and they'll do so at the first chance they get . And once they do , obviously they wouldn't have much favorable memories or residual feelings for their homeland . Why would they ?? Inspite of their hard work , talent and dedication when they see people with one tenth of their qualifications are getting all the ranks , money , opportunities, jobs, best universities and positions, without putting in any hard work , just because of their caste , it must be heart breaking and creates an extreme bitterness, frustration, disillusionment towards their country that has created and nurtured this system . We can sing all we want about unity during crisis times, but the truth is how is unity possible when there's such blatant unfairness??

Not only huge brain drain is happening , but those who leave how can we expect to have , forget any loyalty, even attachment towards our country?

And the opposition is the one who is airing the fire of whole reservation propaganda, when what we actually need to do is scrap it in totality.

If the creams of our country has to open tea stalls to put food on the table for themselves and their families, then they'd rather open the tea stall in some other country, where atleast their children won't have to suffer the same fate and have all the fair opportunities.

Love and loyalty work both ways , as it should .
