In "Aladdin (2025)", the magical tale returns with a fresh twist. Will Smith reprises his role as the Genie, bringing even more charisma and humor to the character. Naomi Scott returns as Princess Jasmine, now a more assertive and politically savvy leader, while Dwayne Johnson joins the cast as a new character, General Rakhim, a formidable rival with his own ambitions for Agrabah.
The story begins with Aladdin (Mena Massoud) and Jasmine ruling Agrabah together, striving to bring peace and prosperity. However, a new threat emerges when General Rakhim, a powerful warlord from a neighboring kingdom, seeks to conquer Agrabah using a mysterious ancient artifact. The Genie, now free but still loyal to his friends, senses the artifactâs dark magic and warns Aladdin and Jasmine.
As Rakhimâs forces approach, Aladdin and Jasmine must unite their people and seek allies. Jasmineâs leadership is tested as she negotiates with rival factions, while Aladdin embarks on a quest to find a way to neutralize the artifactâs power. Along the way, Genie provides comic relief and magical assistance, but his powers are limited outside the lamp.
The climax sees a massive battle at the gates of Agrabah. Rakhim uses the artifact to summon a sandstorm, but Aladdin, with Jasmineâs help, manages to outwit him and destroy the artifact, breaking its hold over Rakhim. In the end, Rakhim is redeemed, and Agrabah enters a new era of peace.

It's been a long time I've seen him in a black comedy action film. He usually appears in such serious films except for a few and this one comes in that hysterical category which DiCaprio always nails. The trailer looks quirky and interesting. It seems original and promising. Leo's reaction at the end got me cracked up. "Vive la revoluciĂłn!"
I donât watch unless someone tells me itâs nice and Iâm missing something out
