It may not just be this reason; plenty of fans called him out for what he was doing to Hardik Pandya.

I am glad he's been removed from commentary. I’ll never forget the hate campaign he ran against Hardik last season. Whether it was an MI match or not, he constantly spewed negativity about Hardik Pandya.

May be he and HP had some personal conflict?? But whatever it was he did not had any right to do that on such a big platform.

The biggest thing in commentary is they don't tell much about cricket it feels like they are running some sort of fan club, I haven't ever listened to English commentary so don't much about them but Hindi commentary and commentators are running a fan club or personal PR campaign, sehwag/Harbajhan are the only sane ones amongst them, and what they do is anything but commentary and the only reason I listen to them is i connect with Hindi more

Not getting into technical side but regarding star culture Gambhir has been saying this for a long time..people dislike him also call him salty etc etc..why does camera focuses only on 3 people baar baar selling only them , branding them as face of cricket.. frankly speaking If there was some other cricketers in the place of VK or RS they would have been dropped long back or not given enough chances like them..

I dont hate or disregard their achievements yes they have won matches for India and are GOATs but this star culture it robs other well deserving people of their chances...(eg.rahane, pujara).. Even tennis greats like nadal, federer live like normal people but our cricketers cant.. Can't blame only them people are also mad behind them..

Next they have started this prince prince thing..His PR is there in YouTube Twitter every where.. Whereas sai sudarshan is doing so well but I don't know how many know his face even.. If GT is winning it is mainly because of him because he is solid as a opener..

he was removed for his constant and direct attack on hardik pandya. It seemed personal revenge.

also i am so so happy he is removed. He intentionally used heavy urdu words in hindi commentary and that pissed me off.
