Ok he didn't specifically ask her to run away before marriage but he totally expected her to do something from her side because he was surprised when the pre-marriage rituals were happening that Juhi was going through with the marriage.

When Juhi came to congratulate him, he did not even talk to her for her sacrifice.. he is a ML who wallows in self pity and doesn't carry a spine to speak the truth when Juhi was being questioned by Leena with a threat to be arrested. The guy doesn't speak when it matters.🙄

You described Neil correctly, Dihiva. Neil is extremely under confident and lives in self-pity. He has severe inferiority complex issues and hesitates to speak up in matters regarding himself. He doesn't speak when it matters, absolutely! There are people like that in real world as well. They don't reveal their thought processes in the fear of getting rejected and therefore, try indirect ways of voicing out their frustration. This results in mild manipulation, sarcasm and indifference towards the people around them.

Neil is the poster boy for reserved and shy people. No wonder he is passive aggressive because he fears rejection. Ironically, he lives in denial at the same time and rejects himself, and somewhere doesn't actually love himself. And this is why I won't call him spineless because he takes a firm stand for and defends anyone who means the world to him, be it Tejaswini, her family or Manjiri tai. It's just when he is at the spotlight that he feels uncomfortable and behaves weirdly, taking incorrect decisions because he doesn't know how to handle his desires. He keeps others in front of him, like Manjiri said. That's not something to be proud of or be happy about actually when there's a whole manipulative world around you.

I really want Tejaswini's some influence on him so that he learns to live for himself and keep himself first in relevant life issues.

I have a general question regarding the observations in yesterday's ratings actually. If IPL is the reason for declining viewership as everyone says, then why are the Colors shows having consistent TRPs while StarPlus has such a downfall in ratings? Is the viewer base completely different? But that's not a sensible reason since it's not totally possible, is it? Or does the fact that Star broadcasts IPL change anything in these dynamics? I don't think it does, since it is a completely different channel, but then it's the same network. Is it related to the broadcasting companies somehow as they are now both owned by the same media conglomerate?

Good question tbh, I don’t fully get the whole Trp game either. I just know bits and pieces—most of the updates I get are either from Nutty or X. What’s really weird tho is how during Ipl, Colors' Trps stay kinda stable, but Starplus’ shows drop a lot. Then after Ipl ends, Starplus bounces back and Colors become stagnant. Same pattern happened last IPL too.

One thing I do know for sure: makers can’t do whatever they want. They need the channel’s permission for plots and casting. Plus, channels have their own team of writers who jump in when Trps start falling. Like last IPL, Starplus literally had all three MLs from Ghum, Rishta, and Jhanak turn super toxic—abusing and humiliating the Fls. It became a whole meme fest on X.

In Jhanak, Ani called Jhanak “characterless ladkhi nd very badly charater assinate her ,” in Ghum Ishan slapped Savi, and in Rishta Armaan pushed Abhira away and said horrible stuff. And all those wild episodes aired on the same day, and all three Fls walked out of their in-laws’ house on the same day. 💀 People were joking that this was StarPlus’ "holy trinity of red flag ml". It was confirmed by gossiptv that the channel had a meeting with all the makers during ipl and sent in their own writers to stir drama for Trps.

True. It's weird how one channel is stable, and the other (having a reach way bigger than that) keeps fluctuating during the IPL season - a season when our country worships cricket. 🤷‍♀️

@Bold: Exactly. Television industry is monopolised by the broadcasting channels all over the world. The makers have little say in storyline or casting since it's the show runner in the channel and not exactly the production house who pulls the strings. The writers are not free to write anything they wish to and directors just execute the channel's vision, it's almost like a factory, especially in a country like India where daily soaps are primary sources of primetime entertainment and unfortunately, run all 7 days a week.

About toxic storylines, ab toh bahut bol diya hai sabne. Bhagwan hi jaane dukh hatane ke liye log ati dukh kaise dekh rahe hain. 🤷‍♀️smiley37

More than anything, I am looking forward for a Neil transformation in this show because in this moment of Teju rejecting him, him manipulating things in such a manner so Juhi does the job for him, he sheepishly observing things from the background, he is coming off as extremely manipulative. Hope his character develops the required spine because he will come to know soon that he was adopted.. then what will happen to him🥴.. or may be that will be the low point of his character which will transform him into a butterfly from is current cuccooned state🤔

Imo both neil and tejaswini are grey characters (because both have their flaws) and aren't extremely righteous. I can understand why neil's family calls him the best is because he fits into that mould of what a good girl/boy is for our society and aren't able to look beyond that. Neil and tejaswini are the most realistic characters (as even on X people are divided on what they feel for neil and tejaswini and aren't supporting either of them entirely). Neil and tejaswini both are extremely immature characters, Neil because he wasn't allowed to take even a single decision by himself all through the years so he doesn't have the habit of being accountable for what he does. In case of tejaswini, she was an extremely pampered child but in the chavans' and pradhan house she has to sacrifice each of her choice. And I don't think so it because Neil got married to her that is an issue, all throughout her life she had taken decisions for herself but now she feels like Neil has taken the most important decision for tejaswini so she resents him and is unable to look beyond that.

I second that👍.. both are immature in the way they handle their respective lives and decisions.

The article says, "He acknowledges that she might not be ready to accept such a gesture, but since he had already purchased it with this moment in mind, he gently suggests she keep it with her."

This is exactly what I mean when I say I get Teju because what did Neil expect was going to happen when he told a nice girl that he will never keep her happy or give her any kind of marital bliss? Did he think Juhi was going to waste her life trying to make him fall in love with her? I only feel Juhi should have tried to confirm Teju's feelings before assuming that she feels the same for Neil. By running away, she also in a way did not consider the consequences of her actions, same as Neil.

I just watched the episode in OG. There Anurup (Rutu's character) brings a tablet directly without any gift box. He just disturbs them to show that he cares for Mahul (Teju) more, could understand she's having a headache and Ayandeep (Neil) is sort of useless and not enough caring.

He even comes and checks on her next day morning too and sees a pillow on sofa
