Exactly! The have a ready opportunity with them with the whole upma thing. Utilize it. Armaan has blocked everything from his childhood out as a way of protecting himself, but it doesn't mean that he doesn't remember anything from that time. Show little tidbits, like you said, which trigger his memory, and build up his bond with Shivani.

We should've known they would do something like this. Remember how they completely destroyed Psycho didi's character during wedding track. We all were wondering how they are going to handle her character and RuRo's relationship post that. So instead of any redemption or whitewash they simply shifted the focus on to Vidya and made her do some even more disgusting and insane stuff. So it gets easier to forget what didi did and accept her. Now they don't know how to WW Vidya. Because there is nothing they can actually do to ww her. And they are also very well aware of the fact that we hate her character. So instead of wasting their energy on ww they are once again shifting the focus on to something even more disgusting than Vidya, Surrogacy via didi

They have a pattern -

Character will go completely bonkers - Armaan, Vidya, Ruhi, Kaveri

During redemption - Take stand for Abhira in front of family then shift focus to other family members

Ruhi apologized and was forgiven instantly, then Vidya took over

Armaan apologized and was forgiven instantly then Vidya took over

Now Vidya will apologise and Ruhi will take over

That's how Ghum worked too, you can't remove characters so you show that FL has forgiven them

Im being optimistic here but maybe the upma scene will happen when they get the stove set up and he might ask her to make it for him? I think i went beyond optimistic with this one

at this point i also dont understand why they brought shivani back since they arent even adding her into his life properly. Armaan and abhira could have left the house without the shivani angle. Kv and vv didnt want her there and the night before kv went on her whole sautela rampage too. But like he finally stood up for himself and his mummy so make him bond with his mummy!!!

Ghum surrogacy track TRP was second lowest TRP

Satya-Sai track had lowest TRPs

Surrogacy track didn't work in Ghum, what worked was the leap which was probably the longest child leap where kids were in the show for one year but leads didn't get a reunion

Surrogacy tracks don't work on ITV, didn't work in YRHPK as well but that show was ending anyways and Rajan had obsession with proving that it was a siblings show so whitewashed kuhu by making her deliver Mishti's child

This is their strategy.. But in taking a character to such absolutely low levels, they are making future plot points unbearable to watch.. After the lows they went with Ruhi, it is extremely difficult at least for me to watch her in any sort of scenes with Ar, forget Ar even her scenes with Ab looked so forced.. Same will be with Vidya.. And when they force such scenes with leads, leads get compromised as well..
