The batters found a bit easy to score runs against the seamers as Shami and Hardik bowled 12 overs combined and conceded 104 runs.

Are these runs enough? Well, in any finale, one might say New Zealand have enough runs to defend. But given how the Indian batting unit has performed in unison, will the Kiwi bowlers be able to create history? Remember, they are short of Matt Henry, their experienced pacer whose absence might be felt during the new-ball phase. But it all comes down to how quickly New Zealand get those breakthroughs. With the pitch expected to slow down further, the task is up the sleeves of the spinners then. Will India get hands to the silverware after a 12 year long wait? Or will the fortunes be with New Zealand? The Kiwis have got the better of India, particularly in the ICC knockouts, be it the ICC 2019 World Cup semifinal, or the World Test Championship Final of 2021. It’s sad if Jaddu is retiring. India will miss him. He has contributed more in fielding and bowling.
