Hi everyone. I am new to this forum. I usually avoid ITV (especially sitara) but this show has got me intrigued after SAAKK. It's cute and quirky, and I haven't watched entire episodes as of now, just the clips and snipets on YouTube and instagram, but I am really invested. I usually don't like school pass outs paired with 25+ men, but I find it cute here.
Some of the things I loved the most about this show are Rani's dressing, and for that matter even devyani's dressing- like any normal 18 year old would dress, for the most part ofc, and not wierd ass ghaghra cholis or anarkalis. And she still wears the same dresses even after marriage, not suddenly shifting towards sarees out of the blue.
The ishaan-Devyani arc is so cute, I mean even if we minus the whole pregnancy arc, the story of rani and dj falling in love during the wedding of their Best Friend/ brother is a cute story in itself. And two best friends getting married in the same house....who doesn't dream of that!
I love rani's straightforwardness, she speaks as she pleases and it is so refreshing to watch. I love how she uses sarcasm to refer to DJ's mom on multiple occasions (wo mujhse pyaar hi itna karti hain; tumhari pyaari mammi iska ilzaam bhi mujhpe laga dengi, 6ft ki almari) and not the overly done dramatic "saas toh maa hoti hai" attitude- and that goes both ways, even DJ's mom is entertaining enough.
Digvijay is a cool character, I usually dislike male characters that have nonsensical anger issues, but his character is very likable and somewhat relatable, atleast so far- he is mean but nice, cold but warm, and what stood out for me was during the whole 'red chili in goons' eyes sequence' he did not take the credit in front of anyone- that small moment for me, felt like such a break from toxic masculinity.
And then doing "it" before marriage is something so new, even the family arc is new in some terms- it's not the ML who's mother went away, but the FL's, the FL's father is not a complete beast, the MIL is not a complete bitch, the ML is not just a hardass but actually has layers (and is a pookie sometimes) the FL is not typical bahu material, and for some reason (as much as I have watched through the clips) the gandhi family all together seem very positive, dramatic, but still cute.
Dj and rani- the chemistry is killer! Their banters are cute as hell, and before the shaadi drama, them falling for each other- things as small as the DJ keeping the rose he thought rani threw at him, and him sitting on her scooty- super cute and fresh to watch. I just hope they don't butcher the show and it has a good run without the character assassinations of any of these characters!
Oh and not to forget the background score is beautiful and the song selection according to the scene is too good! (At first when I saw the mehendi ceremony where rani was in ghunghat and dj was trying to see her face and luk chup na jao ji was playing, I thought it was a fan edit-the song selection was so top notch!)
