To be fair he actually has a point. The fact that Abhishek is his son completely overshadowed whatever acting ability he did have. So he really had negative publicity when he suffered flops. In fact he suffered 5 flops in a row from 2010-2012 that he was removed from his next film role after his movie Players (2012, remake of The Italian Job) flopped. It’s rare that this happens to a nepo.

But he got chances after chances post first ten dead flops

he was hailed as next big thing after few average films like sarkar n guru and a hit Dhoom...

after that again a never ending list of disasters

Also his handful of few above average performances were very well appreciated by everyone, so no victimization for Lallu Laaja Beta.

@Nishita 123 Abhishek was criticised for his acting, being bland and his wooden expressions in his early days in the industry. He literally worked with some big/ hit directors early in his career.

Don't know why Amitji talks about nepotism when the quality of the movies (especially the always romantic angles) wasn't very engaging...even the first one (where Abhishek and Kareena got launched through a Dutta movie) could have been a better movie with a plot focussing more on the topic.

He was quite good in serious roles (Refugee, Zameen, Yuva)...and he still is, especially when a character is well 'designed'.

There is a truth in what AB Sr has said.......the son of the biggest star and the best actor in the universe was going be analyzed under the most powerful microscope ever......the son of the Mahanayak of the century....was going to be judged against his Dad.......no one....and I say this as SRK fan......no one can touch the acting prowess and the stardom and craze of AB SR....Of course Abhishek was doomed to be a failure. Nothing he could have done would have been even half as good as the God of acting AB Sr......

Abhishek is a very good actor and is tall and decent looking....but he was pitched against AB Sr every single time....Was he an outsider.....he would have been hailed like RKR for some of his performances.......yes he got opportunities......but he faced the most difficult scrutiny......sometimes I feel happy that Aryan has decided to work behind the cameras...

So nepo kid became victim of nepotism. Can’t stop laughing by reading the title.
