No, Neil didn't reject marriage proposals in the past. In one episode, someone said that they (Neil's family members) saw a lot of girls for Neil but they didn't like any of them. Pata nahi Juhi mein aisa kya dekh liya!

Neil fell in love with Tejaswini mainly because of her voice and singing. Neil loves music immensely! He listened to her duet and her Shiv stotram. And her singing touched Neil's heart so much that he sang himself after many years. Yes, he liked her when he first saw her. But his feelings became deep when he listened to her singing.

And the revelation was dramatic. Neil's mother said, "Tujhe jiska intezaar tha wo aa gayi" and camera focused on Tejaswini. Neil's brother, Amay said, "Ladki ka naam Aparajita nahi, Juhi hai." Neil's sister-in-law said, "Ye ladka Neil ko 'driver dada' kyun bol raha hai?" Vedant and Mukta came to meet Neil. But Lakshmi spoiled Mukta and Neil's scenes. A new precap was shown. According to that precap, Neil will tell Mukta that Mohit wanted Neil to marry Tejaswini.
