I was going through all the discussions regarding the episode and I can understand that there are many negative opinions about Neil because the way his character is being portrayed.
When I began watching the show even I foind Neil's character a bit boring and way to subdued.I always held the opinion that lead characters should be upfront and bold, the ones we can idolize.
But anyhow,Neil's character was written differently and it was supposed to be that way. I do agree that whatever he is doing is not justified and it is disrespectful to Juhi. He should just come out and say the truth.
But we all have come across situations like this. We, especially us Indians, do succumb to family pressure on many instances. We are brought up a way where we are taught that whatever decisions the parents are taking is good for us and we should not question that and this a toxic side of Indian families. Not everyone can overcome family pressure and take decisions at their will. And Neil has been portrayed that way who says yes to everyone. So I understand where he is coming from.Even though he tried mentioning about his reluctance to meet Juhi his parents did not understand.
I do hope that in future Neil learns to take a stand for himself for his good.

It's more of a direction and writing mistake I feel. In my opinion, they should've shown Tejaswini rejecting Neil first, and then Neil saying Yes to meet Juhi. Then Neil being indifferent towards Juhi could be understandable as in depressive state, a person becomes too passive to resist anything. Neil's heartbreak at Tejaswini's hands is necessary for audience to connect with him. As of now, Neil's problems are mostly self-inflicted due to lack of efforts on his side. The issue is Neil isn't even trying to make things clear. And while I agree, Neil being a people pleaser can't say no to his parents, then he should respectfully try to make things with Juhi work. I guess even if one cannot love a person, one should give basic respect to them but Neil is withholding that from Juhi. There was a Kdrama scene where a supporting character has feelings for the male lead but the male lead loved female lead. So he clearly writes to that supporting character in a letter about how he loves only female lead and when that supporting character reads that letter, he secretly watches her from outside so that if she breaks down too much, he could get someone to support her. That's a difference between ITV male leads and Kdrama male leads. Kdrama male leads are also too much in love with female leads but they are also mindful of well being of others and ensure no innocent person gets harmed.

Yes! Neil went to see Juhi only because of his family pressure. It's not like Juhi is his girlfriend and he's cheating on her. Even though he didn't tell his family members anything about Tejaswini he said he didn't want to go. It was quite clear from his attitude, body language and behaviour that he wasn't interested in the meeting and the marriage. Still they forced him. Even in today's episode, Neil's brother, Amay said, "The family members of the girl are already heartbroken due to their relative's death. Please don't say no for this marriage. If you do that, they'll feel more depressed." And I didn't like it at all. What kind of emotional blackmail is that? I can relate to Neil and I don't think he did anything wrong today. And yes, he should've told about Tejaswini to his family members earlier.

I think those cases are completely different from the case of Neil.
The only thing different is family obligations. Neil knowingly goes into this (+pressure from family) whereas in those cases the guys too knowingly go
